jamzee Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 It's just a real shame there is a monthly subscription for this - although if you are happy about that this looks like a bargain!
hga09 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 It's just a real shame there is a monthly subscription for this - although if you are happy about that this looks like a bargain! True. The business model that seems to work for these online social games is to give the game away and have no monthly subscription costs, but charge for virtual money that can be used to purchase items inside the game. I wonder how Lego missed this...
MinifigFreak2010 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I really wanted to join LU ever since the first possible release date was announced(Q1 2008), but I can't take the having to buy a cd AND the subscription. Plus, there's a lot of talk of computer issues w/ the game graphics and talk of the game not really having enough content to make it really worth it for long. Most sites I've tried work fine w/ free basic. About the only trouble places i've encountered is on Club penguin and toontown. Toontown wasn't even worth the subscription. I got from first training session to the boss suit in 2.5 months.
fred67 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 $9.99US. Wasn't it $50 when it came out? They're showing an MSRP of $19.99, but I'm sure it was more than that. Must not be doing so well to cut it down to essentially a clearance price within months of going live.
MinifigFreak2010 Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I don't think the game is selling so well on legoshop.com XD It's 9.99 with free shipping. I'd go for it, but I don't know if it'd work on our desktop(IF it was running) and I doubt it'd run on the laptop. If it was like most other RPG's where you get it downloaded from the net and the subscription was a better price, then i'd probably go for it.
