Milan Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) Great update. It looks and performs even better now. Can you make short review of those outriggers + their boxes and how did you route the hoses? Edited June 5, 2011 by Milan Quote
efferman Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) I have some older picturesfrom a older version. the version of my mog is only 5 studs wider in retracted position. if the Pics are not enough, say anything to me, then i will go more in the detail. jes efferman i can see the difference because the new boom is stands on breaking on the lower side yes the whole crane is leaning to the side, because the new first boom is more stable. the old one was twisted in itself. now the Crane Pillar and the Turntable are the weakpoints. and the short provisoric supports on the baseframe make it not better. olaf9198 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 mayby you can made the ondercarige of the crane from the 8258 Quote
efferman Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 thanks for your suggestion, but i dont think that it fits at the unimog Quote
efferman Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 I hope i understand you right. it is not the width. the 8258 has in opposite to my unimog no suspension and a different scale. it is easier to make a complete new frame than modify the 8258 frame. Quote
Sam42 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) nice work efferman, like you said, your levelling rule is rather higher than average, the turntable and the prototypical linkage actuated boom movement are the stand out innovations for me, great stuff, As for the logging crane build i was working on, it's been shelved for a while for a lack of pneumatic hose. Sam42 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Good place for hose: http://www.blokbricks.com/ Cheers for the link Alasdair, I've actually ordered some hose and one of their compressors for the small pump cylinders contained within it before now, it's good stuff, but i'm afraid it's a it's a lack of funds rather than sources thats slowing things down.. efferman Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 Thanks sam Sunday is a good day to build and i have the next part for you. A "Oiltank" with hidden compressor. The Compressor is inspired by Sariels Compressor more pics in the Brickshelf folder (if online) Quote
Sam42 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Nice job concealing the workings.... the rocker style mechanism looks interesting too. Is that a demountable sub frame there in the pictures? so the chassis can still flex in a classic unimog fashion?... oh forgot to add before, i may have to steal that double turntable idea in a future moc! Quote
efferman Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 yes it is a sub frame, but i am not sure if i give it a 3 point mounting to the mainframe. Their is no more rockclimbing in the plan. perhaps i will make it not remote controlled. this make some things more easier to finish it till the end of this months technic challenge. Quote
