Cloud0 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hey guys! Showcasing my newbie attempt at LDD. An office building. Overview 1st-4th floor only The lobby Includes a fountain and an operating lift which brings them up all 4 stories and roof top. 2nd floor A big meeting room with a projector and pantry. Balcony area probably for smokers. A small couch and plant next to the lift for visitors. 3rd floor Cubicles and more cubicles. 4th floor Executives and management only. The roof Comes with a green house for eco-friendliness. Thanks for your time. Any C & C welcome. Btw, it costed USD$995 to buy from lego... Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hi Cloud0, welcome to EB! I must say that is a very good first attempt at LDD, especially since you managed to have the patience to create a 4-storey building with each level having its own functional areas. It's also nice to see an eco-friendly element on this one with the greenhouse on top. That is already a great start, and I'm sure you'll be able to improve this with probably more additional details inside and some variation in the color scheme and texturing of the walls. Good job overall! Quote
Cloud0 Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks thanks. Started with light and dark bley because felt that it's probably easier to buy and probably cheaper too. After completing it, doubt the price is friendly after all. Maybe in the next project I can include in more details, color and etc. Quote
Jargo Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I really like this. It conveys the bleakness and desolation of an office environment perfectly to me. I like the starkness and unfussy exterior. The dead spaces inside. And the impractical quality of having a huge fountain for show and a tiny elevator matches up to my experiences of office buildings. the juxtaposition of the fountain, symbolising life and freedom and constant movement, against the claustrophobic and stale, stagnant, individualty erasing cubicle workspace is so typical. Calabar Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Very good work! The irregularity of the "limits" between different floors appearing in the images make me think you didn't used Groups to organize levels in your modular building. It would be very useful for the model. Do you think to share your lxf file? Quote
roamingstop Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I really love the greenhouse - for me it is a great design and one which could be interesting to use in the future... Thanks! Quote

Calabar Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 For group function of LDD, see here at voice "2. Grouping Palette". Quote
