Daniel-Technic Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hi. Is there a website showing all of technic sets box pictures? Is there sets have two or more different design on box? Daniel. Quote
DLuders Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) Bricklink usually has a small, low-resolution picture of the FRONT of the Lego set boxes. Set your search to "Catalog Items", type in the Lego set number (like 8052), click on that number, and you will see thumbnail images of the set and box. Click on the thumbnail to see the larger image: You can also do a search on Brickshelf, to find various gallery folders on the set. For 8052, here's what I found with little delay. Daniel-Technic Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Hi DLuders Many thanks for the useful link to website. I had a look, found the set i'm looking for. I can see that there are 2 different design on 8455 one a black and one a yellow. Why is that? It because I had been looking on Ebay and I've been looking for 8455 . 5 time I've lost. I found 8455 with box and instruction, now at last I've won it. Daniel Quote
DLuders Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I can see that there are 2 different design on 8455 one a black and one a yellow. Why is that? I'm not sure what you mean; both alternates of the 8455 set are yellow with black accents: Quote
Anio Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 This is not my photo, but... When I bought my model (second hand), it had the black box (but a bit damaged). Quote
CP5670 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I can see that there are 2 different design on 8455 one a black and one a yellow. Why is that? They changed the Technic box art in the middle of that set's production period. The yellow boxes are from 2003 and the black ones are from 2004. Back then, the sets were in production longer than most modern sets are, 2 years or more. The same thing can be seen with some City boxes around 1990, when they moved from the yellow Legoland boxes to the blue System ones. Quote
blueShinyApple Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Dang, that's a cool box! mine is yellow.. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Did Lego not re-release this set a couple of years after it was original in our shops, but the re-release came in a different style of box? Quote
DLuders Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Peeron shows the 8455 box with Ages "11-99" on it. It's a little bit different than the "11+ " printed on the boxes shown earlier in this post. I glanced at my copy of the "Lego Collector's Guide", and it shows Set 8455 being produced from 2003-2005. Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I think that, with obvious exception, the maximum age range should disappear. Mainly for the complex models like #8258, #8043 and so on. Quote
Daniel-Technic Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Yes, it is the black box. It coming in a few days, can't wait..... will take photo when it arrive. Dan. Quote
