The Yellow Brick Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I have allways admired the Lego space themes which have been released over the years and I have never really brought many sets. So earlier today I built this small space buggy and I have decided to share it with you. The Buggy. The back of the buggy showing the rockets. I don't plan to add anything else to this, but if you do have anything you think that may improve this model. Do tell me . C & C welcome. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Very cool design! I don't like the color scheme of this, but the design like I said is very cool. IMO the wheels look weird so to the side of the main body, but its your choice. Quote
Legostein Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hello! Depending on the terrain you want you sleek buggy to run over it could be useful to have some larger/wider wheels to prevent from a breakdown ondifficult surfaces. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I think adding some bits that look like suspension would add some character, like the small cylinders and cones. Quote
Alopex Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I like it, but I think the wheels could do with a bit more work, they look a bit strange like this... I like the details at the back a lot. Quote
loading... Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 That's a pretty cool design. There are two things though, that I think detract from the overall realism, I hope you don't mind a bit of constructive criticism. 1. Engine blocks - as there's no air on the moon, it looks odd to me that the buggy has air intakes/vents. 2. Rubber tires - as there's no atmosphere on the moon, conventional inflatable tires would explode so "tires" made of a woven steel mesh coated in zinc are used. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Thank you everybody for your comments. The suspension Idea is great, I'll use that some time. That's a pretty cool design. I didn't really think any of those things when I was building it. But you do make a pretty good point. But sadly lego doesn't make tires of woven steel mesh coated in zinc (It would be great if they did), I wasn't going to use the rubber tires at first but I was rushing this model when I was building it. So I will take that into consideration when I build another space themed model. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Well, they could be solid rubber tires, so they're fine Quote
