Made in China(he16767) Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Giant Dragon is the "Father"of all diesel lovomotive in China. Is the first success and made in China diesel lovomotive. But no mass production, they only built two for test. Real photo↓ the pirvate train in that time is towed by Giant Dragon, that represent the proud of the Chinese.↓ Nowadays,This locomotive has been adopted to like this! (like DF3 diesel locomotive in China)↓ The Brand name and the product date↓ I added Power function in the locomotive, the power is large, front & back light are include Lego↓ compare with the real one↓ Brickshelf Gallery outlook↓ bogies↓ oil tank↓ The structure of different part I kept the space for the RC resiver to change the channel, convenient for double-heading↓ Cant wast the space in the locomotive↓ The structure must be strong, especially 7 studs train 車底結構要穩! 其由是七格車! ↓ Video! Looking forward to your reply! Edited February 5, 2011 by TheBrickster Oversized images replaced with Brickshelf link Quote
AussieJimbo Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Nice job, MiC. Always tricky dealing with a curved front, I think you've done well. You've picked up plenty of details from the reference photos but I take it this loco has a little trouble with curves. Lot's of interesting SNOT work and i'm impressed you managed to cram the old style battery box in so cleanly. :classic: Quote
mpec82 Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Fantastic, very detailed and nice colors. Quote
marsupilami Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Nice MOC with great detail. I like how you included all PF parts. Quote

LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Great MOC you've created! Looks just like the full size. Really like the work on the bogies. Quote
Gareth Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 That's a really good Train, Its a nice solid colour (you can't go wrong with red for trains) I like how you've added the stripe detail to it out of the photo, and I also like the work on the bogies and the use of SNOT on the front of it too. Toastie Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Wow! That is wonderful! Congratulations on the detailing ... your model matches the original astoundingly well! One question: How do the 3 axle bogies negotiate curves? It looks like they are pretty much "fixed" or is there any hidden trick? Would love to learn more! Regards and keep up the good work, Thorsten Quote

Regards and keep up the good work, Thorsten In fact, the locomotive can't negotiate curves, but the power of the locomotive is large,so it can pass the curves in the same speed. but the power may be decrease. kost u grlu Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Fantastic locomotive! Looks really nice! I enjoyed watching the video! Quote
