Walter Kovacs Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 See if you can spot a trend here. Hockey: St Louis Blues (let's go BLUES!) Baseball: St Louis Cardinals (A winning season, yet still very disappointing) American Football: St Louis Rams (2 wins already!!! This team is spoiling us.) American College Football: Mizzouri Tigers (4-0 on their way to 10-1) Basketball: Missouri Tigers (I hate the NBA, love college hoops, though) Football: No specific team. I'll watch a game if it's on, though. Quote

Maybe because there isn't any NBA team in Missouri? Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Why you hate it? I love it! Maybe because there isn't any NBA team in Missouri? That's certainly part of it. The other part is that the pro game seems too focused on personal showmanship, and not as focused on the team game. I prefer teams that do a lot of passing, practice unselfish play and have tenacious defense. I'm fine if my team doesn't have a single slam dunk in a game. Missouri's team is currently built this way, and I love it. I also dislike the 7 1/2 steps or so that pro players seem to be allowed nowadays. Didn't that used to be called travelling at one time? I totally agree with you. I like college basketball (especially March Madness), but besides the playoffs, NBA is not for me. Quote
prateek Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I personally love the NBA. I think it's really refreshing to see a league full of showmanship, besides NFL, because I don't watch that. Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 England cricket team can't wait till the ashes I personally love the NBA. I think it's really refreshing to see a league full of showmanship, besides NFL, because I don't watch that. BTW Blackpool beat Liverpool at Anfield 2-1 Quote
prateek Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 And NESV has bought Liverpool FC. Hopefully they can turn things around. Gillett and Hicks held on to the club for too long. Quote
GMW79 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 MLB: New York Yankees NBA: Detroit Pistons NFL: Detroit Lions Soccer/Football: Fiorentina of Italian Serie A And my most favorite team of all sports, in my favorite sport, the team that I am most loyal to of any in existence, for all time, the NHL's finest: THE Detroit Red Wings! XimenaPaulina Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Boxing History just made - Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao has just won a record of 8 world titles in 8 different weight divisions after destroying Antonio Margarito for the WBC Super Welterweight Title . Just a testament he's the best pound-for-pound boxer of his era. Floyd where are you? Quote
mobricki Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 American Football: Pittsburgh Steelers Quote
Prinsesa Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I know it's a bit rare for a girl to like basketball, but ever since my bf influenced me and introduced me to the NBA, I instantly fell in love with the Boston Celtics. They have been my most favorite sports team for two years now, and I'm proud to say I'm a die-hard Celtics fan. Quote
Lego Lassie Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Hockey : Vancouver Canucks CFL : BC Lions I love watching hockey but with an 82 game schedule I'm ready for the off season in summer. About a month before the new season begins though, I'm chomping at the bit for more! Love CFL, not interested in NFL. I wish there were more games in a season for football but with the punishment the players take I can't wish that on them either! Quote
Enpaz Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Speaking of football clubs, I'd say FC Chelsea London! Is that even spelled correctly? C-H-E-L-S-E-A? The word is hard... With the football/soccer games "nationality against nationality" it's different though. There I root for the Spanish team, which fortunately won the last world cup, AND the European championship before! Sports on Enpaz Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Since there are threads for F1 and so on I thought football deserved a topic off its own because it is one off the biggest sports in the world So here is the place too discuss all the score lines and so on Quote
prateek Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Yes, I am a fan, as you can tell. My teams are Liverpool FC, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan. So far this season, two of the teams are doing well, while the other two, well.... Quote

Alex the Great Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 My favourite teams are Arsenal and Real Madrid (Real madrid because of the portugese players). Though the way Barcelona plays is just amazing. Quote

Instead of just starting a generic topic because you can, please try to put some more effort into your opening post, so it at least has some direction. We really don't need an entire thread saying "I am a fan of..." I will be keeping an eye on this one. Thank You. Quote
tedbeard Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Local: Victoria Highlanders FC - I am President of the Lake Side Buoys supporters group National Team: Canada (obviously) then England EPL: Arsenal (no ManUre bandwagon for me) LEGO: Stackton Town FC - I've been trying to collect bits and pieces to build a stadium and team(s) On a more current topic: some of the Americans have been getting all excited by the the Collectible Minfig sports figs, especially the baseball player, but the Series 4 footballer looks great. Does anyone have detail pics? Does he have a number or can we use our old stickers from former football sets to make a team? Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Dare I say it... CHELSEA ALL THE WAY! Die hard Chelsea fan. I am always with them through the ups and downs of football. I live a 2 min walk from Stamford Bridge, so its easy acces aswell! :P Any other teams: I like Tottenham and Barca, but all the rest I just respect. I detest ManU though. :P Quote
