Modulex Guy Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 If some of you know, the U.S. got completely pounded last night by a crazy blizzard. 50+ mph winds, thunder and lightning, 2 feet of snow. Well, hey, atleast for a birthday gift my classes got cancelled! View of the back patio Backyard: There is a driveway in here: there are three cars on this driveway, can you find them all! front yard: View out the front door, doesn't look too bad, but what you do not see is the three steps under the snow!! More pics to come... once I dig further! Quote
prateek Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Congratulations, we got snow too today. Enough to get school cancelled, but not that much When we get 2 feet of snow, there aren't any cancellations, but when we get 15 cm (6 inches), school gets cancelled Hope you had fun on your birthday! IAmWillGibson Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 See, that looks like a good storm. I'm embarrassed how much Toronto looses its mind when it snows here. We got hit by "the storm of the century" but it's, seriously, like 10 cm maybe, hardly anything, and they cancel all schools and everyone goes into high alert. Yeesh! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I wish I lived there. Here in rainy old England we just have lot's and lot's of frost Quote
CorneliusMurdock Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) Did you get any of the ice or sleet? We got sleet on top of snow here in NW Ohio, though I have some family members in Columbus who complained of a thick coating of ice on everything. Edit: Happy Birthday, btw! Down South a bit pretty much got pure ice! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Happy Birthday. I supposed you can build a snowblower or plow MOC since classes are canceled. We did not get hit with as much snow as forecasted but street plow left a nice big present at the end of my driveway. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I did some digging and my SigFig decided to help: Digging the driveway: Long way to go... I FOUND MY CAR! End result! Quote
Eskallon Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I wish I lived there, it looks sick. Oh and I could make some good Hoth Pictures for the photography thread. Anyway, Happy Birthday have a great day and guess what, I took a trip to the amazing google cake shop!!! Quote
JimBee Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 You should've seen my driveway. The snow drifts made it at least two feet deep, past my knees. It took about 5 hours to shovel out both mine and a neighbor's sidewalks and driveways. Quote
TheDesuComplex Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I live in Northern Texas. We got sleet, sleet, sleet, rain, snow (in that order). Enough ice to cancel local school for 2 days straight. I wish I just had snow like you did, I just spent an hour cracking ice on our sidewalk with a baseball bat to get it off. Now It's pretty hard to type. What's worse is that, when all this melts away, they're going to have the Super Bowl about half a mile north of me. Quote
Sisco Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) This snow storm ain't got nothin' on the ice storm we had in the beginning of '09 in Arkansas. We had no power for two weeks, there was about an inch of ice on everything, and schools were closed for three weeks. The temperatures stayed at a steady -5 to about 15 for four weeks. Crazy, like nothing Arkansas had ever seen before. Not that I feel for you folks a little north of us, with all your devastating snow. EDIT: *Gasp*! I almost forgot your birthday! Forgive me... Happy Birthday! Edited February 3, 2011 by cralegoboy Quote
brickmack Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) I'm in Indiana, we got about 2 feet here I think. I had lots of fun in the weather. I like snow a lot... And it was a good excuse to not leave the house for a few days and just build. Edited February 4, 2011 by brickmack Quote
