Strat Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Hi, guys! Being new here, I wanted to start posting with MOC. So, here it is. A new-school chopper, named "Black Diamond". Inspired by the Discovery's "American chopper" and absolutely stunning Lino M's LEGO bikes It doesn't have a real prototype, just a common image of a bike. Name was given obviously because of its color, shiny metallic silver on a black background. I'm not sure if it is the right subforum for such a MOC, but it seems to have a model team style view, so I posted it here. For more pics visit MOCpages Hi-res photos on Brickshelf Thanks for watching, any comments are welcome! Edited February 2, 2011 by Strat Quote
DLuders Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Nice chopper! The Teutels would approve: Quote
Milan Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Really nice bike. As a big bike fan, I enjoy observing all the fine details and how frame is constructed and it has that Paul Jr.'s touch. Well done. Now, I don't like primary drive here...maybe some rubber belts would be better, instead of wide chain. I can just imagine this machine with chromed engine and few other chromed parts! telecasterman Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Wow. That is one fine chopper! I especially like wide chain and all the little details like the use of the minifig levers for brakes... Quote
Strat Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Thanks for for responses! Milan, the chain is kinda imitation of the belt. I can't remember such a wide belt among the lego parts to imitate the drive, looking like one in DLuders' post, for example. Maybe, except this one But I don't think it's more suitable here :-) A matter of the scale, by the way. With the wheels from 8420 it's gonna look just right. I'll try to make next bike in that scale. And the chrome.. Yeah, it surely could make this thing perfect )) I wish I had some chrome parts. Quote
grohl Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Great MOC, very clean design combined with beautiful details. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Excellent MOC, great detail. Paul Quote
Milan Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 And the chrome.. Yeah, it surely could make this thing perfect )) I wish I had some chrome parts. If you don't mind paying extra cash, you can order almost any LEGO part chromed, including engines. Few Bricklink shops can do that for you. Quote
Strat Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 you can order almost any LEGO part chromed, including engines. Few Bricklink shops can do that for you yep, I know. It's my first attempt in building bikes, I just wanted to try it. And use the parts I have. Maybe next time I'll order some chromed parts, now I already have several ideas for further creations. Thanks again! Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Very very nice. My compliments. Quote
