Teazza Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Hi everybody, here is my last MOC, a satellite transporter that will be put into my Space Lauch Complex ( http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=49413 ) Soon new support vehicles will be build up! Suggestion? bye Teazza Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Great new MOC Teazza . That transporter reminds me of those giant remote controlled heavy mover! Great idea, I could definitely use one. Keep up the great work! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Wow Its really COOL! You should make a stop motion movie for us once the layout is complete! Quote
Ralph_S Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 The satellite looks interesting, but I think there's a bit of an issue with the concept of the MOC as a whole. Satellites are normally put together in clean rooms and carefully packaged before being transported to the launch centre. I highly doubt they're ever put on a truck and exposed to the elements or driven by a guy in dungarees and wearing a hard-hat -certainly not with the solar panels extended. I probably haven't given you quite the suggestions you are looking for, but this MOC doesn't make sense to me. Where on earth did you get the idea for this? Cheers, Ralph Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Nice design, but I agree with 'Ralph_S'.....saterlite's don't get transported that way....the solar panels are folded in and it's moved vertically from it's workstation after assembly - so yeah, it doesn't make much sense....unless it was hatched by Dr.Evil and Mini-Me.....Yeah, Baby ! It does have that Austin Powers feel to it - well that's just my opinion ! In any case, nice work and Brick On 'Teazza' ! Quote

Cheers, Ralph OK OK, yuo're right, this is not so realistic, I agree with you. But this is my LEGO space center, so let me use some fantasy... I think that this MOC, despite its non-realistic looking, give a good and nice-looking touch to all the assemble. I also projected a scaled Vehicle Assembly Building for the shuttle, but it needs too many pieces and money... So, just use a shortcut to give the idea, even if loosing in reality. Anyhow, the next vehicle I'm projecting is taked directly from Kennedy Space Center pictures, so it will be really realistic, maybe you'll like it much more... Wow Its really COOL! You should make a stop motion movie for us once the layout is complete! This is a good idea! I'll try! Thanks! Edited January 30, 2011 by Teazza Quote

There is lots of interesting stuff that goes on at a space centre, so it has the potential of being a very interesting project. I fear that this vehicle will distract from that. Years ago I had the opportunity to visit ESTEC (part of the European Space Agency) and saw some of the facilities where they test satellites. Searching google images for 'Estec test facilities' ought to give you some ideas. Cheers, Ralph Quote
