It features the same color scheme as my snowplough truck and has other similar details. I build it shortly after it. I like the 3180 Tank Truck LEGO released last year, but it is too large to reach all arears in a town. So this one will deliver heating oil to my town citizen and is much smaller. One problem I have with the official set are the holes in the large curved slope bricks that are used to build the tank. It just looks a bit odd. I tried to hide them in my model, but didn't succeeded completely. Anyway, let pictures speak ;-) Edit: If you like it, you can build your own one using the pictures in this Brickshelf folder. Enjoy! You did well shortening the truck but still maintaining a realistic delivery capacity for the tank. It's also nice to see the consistent Octan color scheme. Great model once again Sleepie! Quote

Because the truck looks more better than the LDD version. Yes, I don't use LDD at all ;-) My toolset for digital building is LDraw + MLCad + LDView + POV-Ray. I'll add some instruction pictures to my brickshelf folder soon, maybe on the upcoming weekend if time permits. Possibly I can than also take some pictures of the brick-built model. I'll post an update when the pictures are online, so please be patient and check back in few days. The rendered pictures are created with POV-ray. So the first step is to build the model with MLCad and than use LDView to export it to a pov-file. LDView is imho a must-have tool for everyone who uses CAD-Tools that are using the LDraw parts library. It has many neat functions for fast rendering LDraw models, creating part lists, screenshots and exporting to various formats. It can also automatically search and download updates of unofficial parts used in a model and many other things. If you have any further questions, just let me know. Cheers, Sleepie Quote

I'm using LDView to generate the *.pov files from my LDraw models. It works like a charm, just play a bit with it, you'll like it. Another good resource with lots of tips & tricks around the LDraw tools is http://www.holly-wood.it/. I will have to find time to have another go at it! I worked on my truck again tonight and it looks much better now! Originally I had the hose/storage are on the top area between the cab and the tank., and had 2 wheels at the back instead of the one. I re-worked it tonight and it looks much cuter this way! Oh, my camera also make it look dark green too!!
