Hi, I'm Matthew, and I'm from Christchurch, NZ.

I am about to start my third year at uni at Canterbury University studying physics and astronomy.

I also play the tuba, hence my username.

A couple of days ago I decided that I will get the Technic remote control excavator, which should get me back into my LEGO.

I have quite an extensive collection, mostly technic. I haven't got anything recently, mostly because of lack of money (I am a uni student). I have a job now, so I can afford a little bit, and I really want the remote control abilities!

some of my own creations are a bus in the likeness of our local red buses, a tank with home made tracks, and a 4 metre high model of the worlds tallest building, the Burj Khafila (formerly known as the Burj Dubai)

the first two won in the local lego building competition in two years, getting me $100 of lego each time. I didn't win the final though.

this looks like an interesting forum. I spent the last couple of hours reading through the discussion about the problems with the excavator.
