Jango Fett Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Hi there, If you have a closer look on the Battle Droids' legs for example you will certainly find a number on them: 30376 2-02 30376 is the item number, every Battle Droid's legs have thise number, but different from Droid to Droid is the last 3 numbers, these can also be 1-02 or 3-02 or others. has anybody got an idea what this stands for? Masked Builder Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 It's probably the mold number or something. Not anything important if you ask me. And if the legs aren't different I don't see it s a problem. Quote
Ralph_S Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Yep. Definitely mold numbers. Many of the molds LEGO use can have multiple parts in them at the same time. In 30376 2-02 30376 is probably the part number, 2 is probably the number of the mold (they do wear and are replaced from time to time), 02 is the number of the individual position within the mold. Nothing particularly exciting. Cheers, Ralph Quote
davee123 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 As I recall, most LEGO elements have the "LEGO Design ID", the mold ID, and the cavity ID. So "30376 2-02" means: Design ID: 30376 Mold #: 2 Cavity #: 02 The "Design ID" is the type of part that it is-- in this case, "Battle Droid Legs". This should NOT be confused with the "LEGO Part Number", which would mean "Battle Droid Legs in TAN" or "Battle Droid Legs in DARK GRAY". DaveE Quote
Jango Fett Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 It definitely isn't something spectacular, but I just wanted to know what the numbers might stand for, since there are different numbers appearing in the same set and all that made me think of it and I wanted to know more... so thank you guys for your help.
