tin7_creations Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 This is my first go at MOCS. Iv started with my favourite theme...Lord of the rings. Pretty good for your first time. You should use a fleshie head for Gimli instead of the yellow. Quote
Darth Yogi Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 These look very nice, and the decals are applied very nicly. Legolas looks like the only custom really, and his hair is painted, right? Great job Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 These are very nice customs S_alvyn10! I love LOTR and you pretty much got their look perfectly well. The yellow version of Qui-Gonn's hair is tailor-fitted for Legolas, while the Dwarf minifig in the Castle line is Gimli right from the very start. But if I may suggest, it's more advisable to deeplink photos (from an image-hosting site such as flickr, brickshelf) in your posts rather than attaching them. This topic may help you --> clickey. And just a friendly reminder, EB being an AFOL site, is expecting you to observe proper capitalization and punctuation in your posts. Legolas looks like the only custom really, and his hair is painted, right? All of them are customs the way I see it, with Gimli and Aragorn being purist customs, while Legolas having the custom decal and painted hairpiece. Quote
Bobskink Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yup, those are Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn. very god work. Quote
LuxorV Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Very nice purist customs, S_alvyn10. I agree Gimli could use a Flesh head to mix better with the rest of the party, but it's really up to you if you want the dwarves to stand out more or whatever On a side note, I'd like you to spend some more time making sure that you use proper spelling, punctuation and capitalisation before posting. This is an AFoLs-oriented community, meaning that we require our members to be 18+ or at the very least behave as mature people, therefore not using chat or SMS like spelling. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation Quote
Sandy Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Very nice purist customs, S_alvyn10. I agree that they look the part, but they're certainly not "purist". Legolas has a repainted hairpiece and a decal in the torso, and both him and Aragorn use non-TLG weapons. Quote
S_alvyn10 Posted January 6, 2011 Author Posted January 6, 2011 Thank you all for the advice. I am new to the scene, so I was not quite sure about the postings. I will make sure not to make the mistakes again. Quote
CommanderFox Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Nice purist and custom figs S_alvyn10! Are you planning on doing more LOTR figs? CF Quote
S_alvyn10 Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Nice purist and custom figs S_alvyn10! Are you planning on doing more LOTR figs? CF I am indeed planning to do all the figures from the 'Fellowship'. But I wont be spending time on them until February as I have got my final deadlines for my last year at University during the last two weeks of January. Quote
