Peppermint_M Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Jake is in search of the Snake Staff of Cobarah IV checking his map just to be sure that this is the right relic, he better watch out for the irate guardian and his slithery helpers! I had to MOC this afternoon, so I whipped up this quick little thig. Enjoy Quote
user Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Nice small MOC and good use of the boulder and staff piece but What head is that on the pharaoh? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 Ah, rumbled, that is one of my collection of not Lego parts that combine very well with Lego. I thought it was well suited to the Snake theme. Quote
prateek Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Nice MOC, but why is Jake checking the map when the staff right behind him is probably the only one with a snake head Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Checking there isn't any clues about possible curses of course! After all, one has to be careful about grabbing gold objects that are just sat there out in the open... Quote

Peppermint_M Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 That particular head is from one of the K'nex battle sets. I was taken with it's snake-like qualities so I threw it into the useful parts box. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 I bought it for £2 with every intention to review it, however the final result was a frustrated tangle of mini k'nex parts and bricks... I was rather vexed to find the helmets didn't fit Lego figures too, the head is narrower than a figure one, it has flattened sides. The cheapness of the set was all that salvaged it! I wish there was a moulded snake head though, that would be very cool! Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Oh, very nice use of that K'Nex head, I would have though it was real Lego it it was not pointed out. That's quite resourceful, it's always nice to build something out-of-the-box sometimes. Quote
Klay Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 You'll probably hate me for saying this (I am a vassal, after all) but, I feel it's too simplistic. Some more detail would rock. Maybe add some small sand dunes, or encase the staff in a temple or something. Don't get me wrong, this MOC is excellent, I just think it could be improved somewhat. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Eh, this is just a throw together. I will likely improve some parts of it, but my mind is already springboarding into potential theme extensions (a quest into the jungle to find Eldorado etc). Thanks for the critique, all to often do MOCs get left to be buried in a forum. I do hope that the Lego Shop restocks its tan so I can rebuild. Quote
