eltsyr Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 As it my first message here I'll copy/paste the few lines of presentation from the starwars forum. I'm just coming out of 20 years of Dark Age...but now with 5 kids ! 3 of them were covered by Star Wars goodies this christmas, including a few boxes of Lego Star Wars. I quickly rediscovered the addiction of putting together bricks & plates, with the increased possibilities of Star Wars licence, new color tones, and new bricks/technics I wouldn't have dreamed of when I was a kid. It killed by pocket money as well (my wife has recently ordered me to stop buying legos...never marry an engineer :D) Anyway, as I've been lurking this forum for quite a while, I know that 1. No matter what my first MOC looks like you'll have infinite benevolence 2. Because we can never get enough legos and a stale forum is sad 3. Average Joes MOCs have a noble mission : making you appreciate even more competition MOCs with gazillions of bricks & talent ;) My second boy had just finished his slave I SW ship and wanted to show it to his mum...He fell down from the stairs and the ship exploded like there's no tomorrow. I quickly stealed a few dark-red bricks to build some R-type derivative I had in mind (leaving my boy hysterical on the floor :D). I still have color issues due to limited bricks. Actually with the skull it reminds me of Captain Harlock spaceships. Thanks for watching ! Quote
Oky Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Brick Stealer! You have no shame, do you? I hope that story isn't true. Anyway, nice MOC. The long and thick front looks a bit weird, but overall it sure looks sleek and fast! Is it supposed to be micro-scale? Because I can't really see any place for a minifig to sit. Unless that skull is piloting the ship. Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Nice! I really like the overall shape and the colour scheme And what a horrible thing to do! Edited January 2, 2011 by ceroknight Quote
eltsyr Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 Thanks for the welcome :-) Brick Stealer! I used this ship as an inspiration. As for the story...actually I did NOT stole his bricks ...I just offered him to build another Slave I ...without the needed bricks I then gave this one to him anyway. He absolutly wanted to put a minifig in it but the only way it can fit is lying down in the cockpit...given the number of G this beast can inflict to the pilot it would probably be the only way to stay alive (the skull & crossbones are grim remains of the prototype first seated pilot...he was instantly skinned during take-off ) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 That is indeed an interesting spaceship design eltsyr, that is a pretty good spin-off of your source material. I like the unconventional glassed nose and 'tentacled' rear flaps. Love the story BTW, how nice and easy it is to 'persuade' kids. Quote
brickmack Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Cool ship design. Thats a terrible thing to do to a child though. Anyway, great colors and shape. Quote
OrangeKNight Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I like it! It has a nice feel to it and feels liek you could slip it into the R-Type 'verse with no-one being the wiser! But I feel your pain as for as color matching and such, I'm kidna coming out of my own Dark Age, best we can hope for at the time is simply to get it as close as we can and take pictures at angles with you don't notice it as much! xD Mike Quote
