I mean using non lego (custom) battery boxes etc. Using normal bbox or rechargeable bbox is acceptable, but using lipo batteries etc - i hate this. Same thing as glued bricks, modified. I hate this. I think i`m lego purist.

Acceptable? i dont use a non lego (custom) battery box!

I dont use a box AT ALL !!! i just put a battery in my model just like you put youre NON LEGO alkalines in a box.

These non lego alkalines are put in a box so you CANT see duracel on them?

Like i said before elec is elec and i like it.

Btw you have any idea what kind of batery the 8878 is????

Geus not because:

Charge up your LEGO® Power Functions!

No more disposable batteries! This rechargeable battery box has built-in Lithium polymer batteries for low weight and maximum power. Use it in your LEGO® Power Functions models and never have to use disposable batteries again!

read this this is from pure :P lego

on this topic:8043 Excavator Mods Want to make your 8043 even more awesome? is the same story but less voltage there you say to save space not that it is not aceptable

Nice. Do you have clearer pics?

How do you charge your li-po batteries? I've disassembled some bad laptop batteries and they are compose of li-ion cells about the size AA soldered together. I might try to mod the battery box with them. The hard part will be charging without starting a fire. :)

How do you charge your li-po batteries?

From this Eurobricks post, here is Rien/Buffalo's diagram for charging the 11.1V LiPo battery pack. Tobbe Arnesson advises that "This is important: You'll need a charger that's intended for the LiPo battery, preferably one with load balancing that can charge the individual cells in the battery pack separately."

The truck wil be demolised i fell in love with the 10x4 from desinger han  like the trailer is from han aswel

The power comes from the truck so the trailer gets 11,1 volts aswel.
