Just looking for a place to showcase my castle...

DSC011751.jpg

Pardon me for showing the surrounding as well - in Singapore we don't have much space in our homes and I got to end up displaying the whole castle on my bed and when I sleeps, it goes back up to the shelves - that the good thing about it being modular.

Treasury (also featured above, just much clearer here)

Actually I am constantly meddling with it. Probably won't be expanding the size anymore and will now be concentrating on putting some medieval buildings within the castle walls.

That's quite impressive, do you plan on adding baseplates, and making courtyards? That would totally finish this up, and make it a really standout piece. It's very impressive the way it is, but the insides look a little unfinished.

I really like how you showcase the individual towers for us.

It looks awesoem.

Interesting. I think that central tower should be alot taller and wider. Looks like it could turn out well though once the inner buildings are added.

That castle is massive! Great job on setting this up despite the limited working/playing area. It's already great as presently constructed, and the huge interior space looks promising for additional castle elements that you might want to put there in the future. Nice work chongcheng!

Very nice!

How many 7946 sets did you buy to make this?

Thats a thing we all ask

I love the stable, great MOC

Thank you for all your comments. :classic:

At present, I used 5 sets of 7946 and another close to 100 DBG panels/bricks for the lower level of the Castle walls. Yah...Bricklink plays a huge role in getting the rest of the parts.

Currently in plans - to put in a Wizard Tower. Maybe doing up a room for the garrison forces to rest and maybe a dining room in the future. Will take some time to put all these in place and also the medieval civilian houses - trying hard to think of a suitable design; well MMV does a great job and I am thinking along those lines

Thats not only giant, its really cool too!! I really like the neat and tidy look of the walls, and the few buildings that you have look very nice. Congrats on such an awesome castle and I can't wait to see it when its done!

Quick question, if this is on a bed, and I'm assuming its yours, where do you sleep?!?!?

That's a very big castle, chongcheng. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how skinny the walls are, but I'm sure when you put an interior and courtyard, it'll look even better!

Nice giant castle layout which is solely using based on the official sets parts to integrate them as a whole. You have certainly utilised a huge space of your house layout to Incorporated this ground. I can't wait to see you, working further in it by inhabiting the solders and other funny stuff. I know you will have a lot of solders for this layout.

Thanks for sharing.

Your castle look very nicely designed! I can't wait to see it with more buildings within the walls. I would like to see a closeup of the building near the middle tower on the right side of the photo. From what I can see of it that building reminds me of set 6067 Guarded Inn from 1986 since it has some similarities. Great work so far!

The treasure chamber is a very good idea. It could have been the reason to build the castle around it :pir-classic:

I think the whole design is excellent and the stables look good.

I'd like to see this one finished. A marketplace, some other buildings and a few paths would really make this a good looking castle IMO.

I noticed this when you first posted it, and I was thinking "Woah, I've got to try this when I get back to Australia.

This is a truly magnificent creation, and I would love to see progress on it.

One thing I noticed is how much it looks like this MOC, and I'm wondering if you used any of it for inspiration.

"Just another castle" your a jokester aren't you? Man this looks amazing, one thing that bugs me is ( and I know its because its so big ) wouldn't it break apart when you go to move it? or did you build it so it would come apart in sections to move it?

Thanks for all the compliments

The building is indeed modified from The Guarded Inn, with bricks more readily available in the Kingdoms sets and currently. It actually fit the castle better before I decided to increase all the height of the castle walls. I will take some close-up pictures when I can spare the time, probably in the weekend.

I have seen the castle before and I must say it looks really good, probably way better than what I have done. However my design do not come from there, the whole castle is based mainly on 7946.

It is modular - I can take them apart for storage or when I need to move them. Will probably take some pictures of them when they are stored up the shelves.
