Maegnus Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Link to the flickr set Everyone always builds the Ecto-1 from the first movie. I wanted to do something a little different. I also have fonder memories of the second movie from my childhood. This model has been complete for over a year, but it took forever to find someone to make me a custom decal sheet with all the right elements on it. It's an 8-wide replica; not meant to be minifig scale or playable (doors don't open). It's a pretty nice display piece. I took a long time trying to get it as accurate as I could. Chrome parts are from Chromebricks. Like most of my MOCs, this isn't 100% purist. A few cut stickers and 3rd party parts tend to creep into my models for finishing touches. Elements of the design were borrowed from Rocko's Ecto-1 and the others I've seen around the net. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Oh my, this is excellent . I cannot fault a single detail (not that I would of course ). I cannot describe how awesome this is , I just love it. Great job on the minifigs as well . Thanks, CB Quote
jonwil Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 WOW that is amazing. The figs in particular are GREAT. Nice use of the BrickForge accessories. What are you using for the hair on the guy with the goggles? Are the torsos custom or if not, what set do they come in? If this head http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb044 existed in flesh tones, it would be perfect for the guy with the glasses :) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 First it was the Ghost Trap, and now this? Another excellent Ghostbusters creation Maegnus! Simply stunning with all the very accurate details of the Ecto-1. Very effective use of chrome pieces and stickers, even to the point of bending that chrome pole piece. Truly an impressive MOC! Quote
BasOne Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back. Quote
meyerc13 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Another amazing creation! Your ghost trap led me to watch the first movie last night with my wife and son (his first time seeing it), now that he saw this he wants to watch the second movie right now. I'd say that's a success! Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Phenomenal job on the car, and the faces of the characters are simply the best match I've seen so far! Very nice work! Quote
