Oky Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Hello there. This my MOC of the Hutt Swamp Speeder that Cad Bane used to hunt down Ziro the Hutt in the Clone Wars episode "Hunt for Ziro". Here's a reference pic: From the back: Some straight-on shots: The seating area without the figs: Top view: Part of this MOC is my custom minifig of Todo 360. He is a bit oversized, but this is the only way I could make him look somewhat accurate. Besides, he's not the first Lego droid to be in the wrong size. Here's a reference pic: Hi-res pics in this Brickshelf folder. Comments are welcome. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Very well done Oky! Your MOC is very accurate to the real swamp speeder - the shape, colors, and overall design. And that brickbuilt Todo is just awesome. Excellent work! Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Very nice MOC Oky! You did a great job with the back, and the engines. I'm not sure if you appreciate criticisms, but it appears that on the 'real' one the "hump" at the front smoothly integrates with the rest of the speeder. While yours is a busy there, IMO. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 'Oky Wan' you have outdone yourself.....totally AWESOME and that goes for the droid as well ....but I'll have to wait a while to see that episode (Oz has just finished only season 2)......may the brick be with you ! Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Excellent MOC Oky Todo is great to me He Looks just the Right size and the Speeder is great Though its not a Swamp Speeder its really a Hutt Speeder that Cad Bane borrowed while working for the Hutts http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hutt_Speeder Quote
Future74 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Agree with the above, great job on both the swamp speeder and todo 360 The swamp speeder is very accurate and has the 'swoosh' factor I like the main engine a lot (where did you get that part from?) but the best parts are the two side engine and the way you attached them! About todo 360; size doesnt matter... Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Excellent MOC, Oky. The engines are spot on, and the overall size is perfect. Aside from the lack of red racing stripes, there's only one thing that looks out of place, and brickartist already touched on it. I'm not sure if you appreciate criticisms, but it appears that on the 'real' one the "hump" at the front smoothly integrates with the rest of the speeder. While yours is a busy there, IMO. For me, it's that white 1x1 brick that throws it off. It looks so out of place, and adds a bit of unnecessary blockiness there. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Having never watched the episode, all I can say is that the MOC looks like it greatly resembles the 'real' thing and ask which CW designer decided to throw an Everglades airboat into a Star Wars show. I think I like Todo better than the speeder. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Great moc , I really love the bak of the spder, and the droid is amezing Quote

Yeah I think the grated, sloping 1x2, and the 1x1 white need to be scrapped. 3 of those 45 degree sloping white 1x1s on either side, arranged correctly shoud do the trick. With those changes it would be flaw-less! Quote

I think I like Todo better than the speeder. In any case, the MOC looks pretty accurate to the real thing, both in size and detail. As others have mentioned, the front seems a bit off, but it's not that bad. Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Excellent MOC! I love Todo, who cares if it's oversized, it's awesome! Quote
Inconspicuous Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Good job, Oky Wan. It's a pretty difficult ship to capture in Lego form, and you've done brilliantly! The front and the engines are both quite impressive, and I just love the blue 'hum' that the engines look like they're giving. Nice Todo, but it looks like he has a beer belly. Keep up the awesome work! Quote

As others have mentioned, the front seems a bit off, but it's not that bad. Alright, so they're not really that similar. But the look is there! Edited December 31, 2010 by Brickdoctor Quote
Derek Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Great MOC! I just wish Lego would give us more Hutts...they are one of my favorite SW creatures and we are long overdue for an updated Jabba... -Derek Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Great Moc Oky! The engines are spot on! Any chance you have Jabba so we could see what a hutt looks like on it? Keep it up! CF Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Oky you've done a great job here. Todo looks great and you've nailed the engines. I think it's a bit on the small side but till we get a Hutt to put on it it's not a problem. Quote
Swiss Army Droid Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) I love this speeder. It looks exactly like the real thing. The engine details are great! Todo looks a little big though. Just like the General's medic droid. Edited December 31, 2010 by Swiss Army Droid Quote
Fives Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Great speeder. It looks just like the speeder in the show. Very well done. The Todo 360 is just pure awesome. Quote
Oky Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for the comments, everyone! I'm not sure if you appreciate criticisms, but it appears that on the 'real' one the "hump" at the front smoothly integrates with the rest of the speeder. While yours is a busy there, IMO. Yeah, I know. Trust me, I tried working around that, but I really wanted to use that bendy piece to create a nice round rim, and those clip-bricks were the only thing that seemed to be able to hold it like that. I tried giving it a more flowing look with those cheese-grater pieces, but only with limited success. Though its not a Swamp Speeder its really a Hutt Speeder that Cad Bane borrowed while working for the Hutts http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Hutt_Speeder The link you gave is the same one I provided, and it clearly says Swamp Speeder, so I don't see your point. I like the main engine a lot (where did you get that part from?) 8106 Aero Booster. Having never watched the episode, all I can say is that the MOC looks like it greatly resembles the 'real' thing and ask which CW designer decided to throw an Everglades airboat into a Star Wars show. I think I like Todo better than the speeder. And I ask: Who cares? Airboats are awesome. Put 'em into the SW universe, add some extra engines and glowy parts, and bam, you got a pretty cool vehicle! Nice Todo, but it looks like he has a beer belly. Yeah, I guess his belly is the main part that makes him too large, but unfortunately TLC doesn't make smaller radar dishes. Any chance you have Jabba so we could see what a hutt looks like on it? Unfortunately not, otherwise I would have provided that pic already. You're welcome to send me one so I can do it though. I just wish Lego would give us more Hutts...they are one of my favorite SW creatures and we are long overdue for an updated Jabba... Agreed! We totally need a new Jabba's Palace complete with Rancor, monkey-lizard, and printed Gamorean Guards, but that's a discussion for another thread... Quote
commanderneyo Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 The link you gave is the same one I provided, and it clearly says Swamp Speeder, so I don't see your point. Ah Sorry didn't see that I was so absorbed in looking at Your Pictures I didn't see that link. Sorry Quote
Brick Smiley Productions Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Wow I like it alot especially the droid but the only thing that looks a bit off from the refence pic is the front part, which looks as if it should be bigger. On a side note you could create a coupld more and remake the scene in that clone wars episode complete with an interesting layout. That would be something that I would look forward to seeing. Great Job! Quote
The_Customizer Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Great job on it! Todo looks nice, and the detail on the ship is great as well! Quote
