Hi all.

I noticed that except the reviews no-one does any 'Work in Progress' (WiP) reports, just posting the finished thing.

As i also do model building, posting on a Dutch forum http://www.modelbrouwers.nl, it's pretty compulsory when working on a model to post pictures of the models from start to finish.

Like my Spanish civil war aircraft for example. (got some lego worked in there too  )

So i'm going to do somewhat of the same thing here, posting pics of the model in the progress of being made.

There are a few advantages for doing this, for one, others can spot a mistake to be fixed (that happend with the aircraft build above, i put the wings on backwards  ), it also gives people the chance to give suggestions, pooling ideas of others to bring a model more to life and improve it in general.

I do 'play' with real lego's, just the last 2 weeks i bought 8043 and 8258, and for christmas i got 3221, but i pretty much forgot to take pictures for a progress report.

But i lack the space, and mostly the bricks to built what i want, so i'm a LDD fanboy :sweet:

So whitout further ado, my current project.

A cross section of one the Imperial Navy's main battleships, The Emperor class I.S.S. Imperial Fist.

(Not Star Wars, not WH40k, My own Imperial fleet)

(A cross section 'cause building the complete thing... to much to ask from my poor pc).

Start at the lowest deck,

As i said, suggestions, remarks, ideas are welcome

Darnit, i allways go overboard with the detailing, hitting 4000 bricks just with the lowest deck.....

*Slaps wrist*

Gotta build the main hull first, so you can get a sense of the ship and the scale, then, when possible, go into detailing

Going out to repair some battle damage to a sensor array.

That thing is HUGE! :oh: You really have a knack of doing massive ships in LDD BasOne! This one is looking great by the build, lots of interesting details you're putting in each update. Keep it up and certainly looking forward for the finished product!

Thanks,

But the ship is getting away from me again, i can't do small.

From end to end it's 180 studs long, wich is much too large, i'm currently in the process of chopping it in half.

I'm keeping the damaged cannon, but it's twin is gone.

It's a somewhat more managable size, offcourse, i'll have to drop some of the interior i had in mind, but, ohwell

What are the specs on your computer?

I am seriously contemplating of building a computer just so I can LDD it up massive style like you and for Starcraft 2.

Ships looks cool, maybe you should build a custom rig like I plan on too haha.

The specs really arn't that special.

Intel Quad core

3 Gb Ram

GeForce 8600

Currently the model stands at around 5000 Bricks.

(Around 5000 'cause i got some spare parts littered around like mini's and pieces i don't want to have te rebuilt 40 times  )
