Ceroknight Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) Really well done, but I don't get it, a christmas tree's what? Edited December 26, 2010 by ceroknight Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Really well done, but I don't get it, a christmas tree's what? I believe it is a typo, and there shouldn't be an apostrophe. Though I like the different lighting, none of the picture looks very focused. If you could, try to make some portion of it look crisp. Quote
Legoman Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 (edited) Really well done, but I don't get it, a christmas tree's what? That apostrophe shouldn't be there should it 'Only a sith would burn down Christmas trees.' Thats it The Idea is that it is a spoof of the EP.III line 'Only a sith deals in Absolutes' (Obi-wan to Anakin) Hope that makes sence now? Yes. Sorry about that. As for the picture not being focused, I'm a bit lost. It was perfect, but seemed to have lost that when I resized it. I'll see what I can do, As the picture quality really isn't the best Edited December 26, 2010 by Legoman Quote

Solscud007 Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Im having a bit of difficulty understanding the pic. It isnt very clear what the subject matter is. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Nice shot Legoman, I really like how you made the trans-pieces glow in the dark. Did you use some special lighting or just photoshop? I also see you cropped the edges for the black background, but I feel you could still make the cropping with a cleaner finish. Quote

I know my blue lights can fluoresce some colors like yellow and orange. I would recommend adding a nice low-medium fill. The plate slope, I assume is the bank of the river of fire. is too dark. i can barely make out any detail on Anakin. Quote
Legoman Posted December 26, 2010 Author Posted December 26, 2010 Thanks for the comments guys I'll work on a better picture over the next day or two. I was using a Ultra-Violet light to make the Trans-Pieces glow Quote

I was using a Ultra-Violet light to make the Trans-Pieces glow ahh yes, UV will make things fluoresce as well. try to find a wide spill floody light that can come one low. then play with the distance of the light to decrease the amount of light. You just need a little more fill light to brighten up the picture and really bring out some details. you could also try bouncing light off of a white piece of paper. Quote
Legoman Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Ok guys, I've given up on using a UV light. It's very hard to get a sharp shot in UV light, so I'm playing around with other things. Here's one Idea I've had - Based just after Obi has left Ani for dead What do people think? I must admit. This shot was very inspired by Fenris' 'Sick of it all' Shot - Which is still one of my favourite shots ever Which probably (hopefully) came though in the shot Edited December 31, 2010 by Legoman Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Now that is a pretty sharp looking picture!!! I like it. I like the dirt and stressed look like he just had the fight of his life. Quote

Thats exactly what I was looking for EDIT: here's another one (very similar, photoshopped the face to better show his emotion ) Oh wow. If you didnt mention the photoshop, I would have thought that was a stock face. (I dont have a vast compendium of faces stored in my head yet) One bit of a suggestion, for a cool shot. Would be to have some red back lighting and some glowing red bricks in the background. So it looks like he is leaving the lava and anakin. Edited December 28, 2010 by Solscud007 Quote

Ok thats weird - I was just thinking the exact same thing as I posted that shot. I have to try it now EDIT: Have taken a pile of shots trying differnt method's of a lava-ry backround, but haven't had any luck. This'll have to be my final entry Oh wow.
