Hi there - while visiting family over Thanksgiving, I found all my old Lego sets! I couldn't wait to get started building again, and shortly after stumbled upon this site.

I'm a structural engineer, and I think that's where my interest in modular structures comes from. I love the bridges, buildings, and all the little nuances that go with them. I'm waiting to pick up Grand Emporium until I get all my other stuff sorted, haha.

I've recently purchased:

Scorpion Pyramid

Good Neighbors at Bikini Bottom

Apple Tree House

I've been a fan of Spongebob since the show started - I guess it's the kid in me! And I really enjoyed the idea of the standard house. Not only does it give me some excellent pieces to put together some ideas, but it was a fun build. The Pyramid is definitely my engineer coming out - really loved the build, too. Building sets is proving to be a great way to understand building techniques.

Anyways, I look forward to building more, growing my collection, and learning how to create the amazing works of art I've run across on this site so far.

As a parting note, here's the few things I found that grabbed my interest again!

Apparently, the Indian set goes for a LOT online, as does the Mos Espa set. I'm pretty sure that X-Wing is the old 7191 set, and I'll be visiting family for Christmas to try and find the box. It feels good to have some "collectible" sets. Chances are, I'll just end up adding the pieces to my sorting, as it's not about the money/value. It's all about the hobby. :classic:

Thanks all!

E: Ick - typos.

Welcome to Eurobricks! That was a very nice introduction.

You have got some very nice old sets there. If it was me... I'd put them aside and just use any new sets I got. Just incase... you might want to sell them later on a buy many new sets! Good shiny new pieces are the best! Nothing like that feeling! Hehe!

Thanks for the warm welcome - it's nice to know the AFOL community isn't full of elitist jerks. And also, I'm glad there's at least one other adult Spongebob fan, haha. The show is starting to introduce some adult humor underneath it all, and I approve!

As for the "collectible" sets I have...I'm actually tempted to unload the Indian set. For the going price I'm finding online, I COULD pretty much pay for that amazing Tower Bridge set I've been eying, too. Tough tough tough decisions...

Hi, welcom to EB :classic:

Do you have an Brickset account? There you can keep track on your (growing) collection. Did you now that a few years ago there were LEGO Spongebob sets?

I'm setting up an account now. Thanks for the heads up! I also got some info on a nice TRU sale that I'll be running over to after work today, haha. And I have one of the Spongebob sets already, and I'll be grabbing the other one after I find it!
