I came across an article in a free newspaper a while ago, about futuristic designs for aircraft. One design that particularly stood out was the SkyLifter: an Australian aircraft currently in development...

I really wanted to make a replica of the craft based on the available imagery. It would have been extremely simple to build a miniature, but as usual I wanted my model to hold a minifigure.

The main problem came when trying to build the balloon: even though I managed to get the shape, using plates initially, I couldn't figure out how to join all the sides up. That's when I decided to create a spin-off craft instead.

This MOC is not officially complete until you silhouette one of the pictures over a colored background.

Clever shape, and I like the cylindrical "control room". Futuristic vehicle concepts are a great source for MOCing inspiration!

Great MOC SilentMode, I have always been amazed by brick-built circular MOCs, which is quite difficult to pull-off, and you've done a nice job achieving the circular shape of this one. Nice work too on the columnar control room, very futuristic indeed.

Thank you both for the compliments, I appreciate it. I wasn't actually sure if I should put this out, but it's something I don't usually do at the moment.

I'll see what I can do!

A very accurate interpretation of a very interesting ship. :classic:

The way you built the circular top is just right and the pod itself not to blocky.

Thanks for sharing
