Tazmaniac Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 after seeing the amazing custom hair piece buy "dirk72" I thought I'd have a crack seeing as I had the materials on hand. not painted yet and its only a first draft but has some potential. Quote
Big Cam Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Great job, I think out looks an awful lot like a regular LEGO hairpiece, just not shiny. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Nice custom. Although I think it'll suit better on a headpiece without a beard. But indeed it looks rather professional. Be sure to post some pictures of the sides and back too once it's painted Quote
Baylego Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Nice! I requested for BF to make one of these on their forum, but I am still considering making one out of Sculpey. Quote
Tazmaniac Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 here's some more pics of the first two attempts. needs a lot of refining before I'll be happy to add it to my collection as I'm a bit of a purist but trying to get over that hang up. the part I find hardest is just how much detail to add, too much detail makes it look non LEGO but not enough looks silly trying to find a good medium. let me know what you think and apart from being smoother/glossy what I need to add/change. cheers Quote
rloesberg Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Wow those hairpieces look amazing I also love your ship and the building in the background, do you have more pictures of the ship and the buildings? Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 These hairy pieces look really good to me! It adds so much realism to the minifigs, I wish LEGO produced them. But who knows what the new Pirates of the Caribbean theme brings? I also move this to the Minifig Customization Workshop, as it fits better there. Quote
Darth Yogi Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Nice job with these customs. I really like the one with two curls on each side, It fits in really nicely. The other one seems a bit thin, but still nice IMO. Great job Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Great job on those custom hairpieces TazManiac! Very clean sculpey-molding, they really look professionally-done. I really hope TLG will make these types of hairpieces, I'm pretty sure our Pirates fans will be happy to have them. Quote
Tazmaniac Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 cheers for all the positive feed back, as thoughs photos don't do them justice . I also love your ship and the building in the background, do you have more pictures of the ship and the buildings? check them out at Classic-Pirates moc's Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Very good. As KDM said the actual sculpting of the wig is brilliant and a good finish colour. I have been looking forward to a wig for years so hopefully TLC will make one. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Very nice. The color is very good, and it looks realistic. I also wish that Lego would make a hairpiece like this. Quote
buddy Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Great hairpiece, it is realistic and I too like the colour used. Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
jokster Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Good , but reminds me of Gorge Washington. Quote
