Derfel Cadarn Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Life Had been hard. The morale of Robin's outlaws was low. Years of living rough in the forrest had taken its toll. So when they discovered the horde of gold at the mill, Robin decided to use the money to by a small Inn on the edge of the forrest. Now he and his men could carry on their good deeds knowing they had a warm bed to return to after a quest. Not just that however, they also had an endless supply of wines, beers and ale. His men soon cheered up and from that day onward, they became know as 'Robin Hood and his MERRY men! Only one pic as thats all I took. All these buildings have been a good chance for me to practice and get better at building for a very large project I hope to start next year. Ive come to the conclusion that dark brown, dark green and white is the best colourscheme for what I have planned. Even though there are only a few hints of dark green on this building it really stands out when you see it in real life and I will deffinitly be using it for shutters on the windows. I still think I can get these more realistic though. Just 2 more entries left!!!! Then no more castle for a long while! Quote
Big Cam Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Classic Derfel, your spin on historic/elvish/country style houses is just unmistakable. I get excited each time I see you have made a new thread. It's amazing how you get the white walls inbetween the wood pieces to actually look like stucko, I can't even see the lines from the LEGO. Stunning work, you are one of my favorite MOC'ers! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Excellent creation as always Derfel! Your MOCs really have that very recognizable 'Derfel' building style into it. Best of luck in the contest! Quote
Bingo Little Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Every time, it goes like this: I see a new thread, don't bother to check who made it, see an awesome MoC, notice the way they did the walls, and realise who it is. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Again 'Derfel Cardarn' you have impressed us all with your castle construction genius ! Hope they don't drink too much wine, ale and cider ! Keep them comming and of course I'm a conformist! ! Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Fantastic . You are a perfect castle builder, well done . Just 2 more entries left!!!! Then no more castle for a long while! So does this mean no more ? Thanks, CB Quote
Skalldyr Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 As I said on Flickr......"Freaking awesome!" Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 You truly are a pro at this! The roof-line is beyond words! I am very curious; you said you're going to be done with castles for a while; what direction are you planning to take your MOC's in?? Quote
Ingrimm Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I joined the EB community today, but I read this forum for weeks and all MOCs I saw from you in this time are outstanding in every aspect. Your creations are so detailed that you have to take a closer look to actually realise they are made out of LEGO. Quote
the Inventor Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Really great creation Derfel Cardarn, I really like the design of the roof and those flags at the balcony look really nice. Those dark green shutters look great although you can't see them that well on your photo. I'm not sure if I like the stained glass window, but I like the design of it. the Inventor Quote
