maydayartist Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Hi there, after a long break (sorry for that!) here is a special quick build creation special for my girlfriend. Her own advent calendar. Last week I decided to do it with Lego and the time to do this was a little bit short (1 day left ;) ) On this and the next two evenings I build this without any plan and no idea for the final design. All the 24 doors are located in the walls and the 2 real doors. On the last picture are three of them open: one door, one wall and the round tower. After this I decided to give them all a winter touch and add the snow covered castle, ground and the 2 trees. So here it is (when images free), hope you like it. Skalldyr Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Ohh my, That is truly amazing....I just love it! As a Moc and calendar. Very, very, very well done! Maybe I will copy something similar next year! Quote
prateek Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Wow! Forget the advent part, the castle is amazing Just kidding though. BTW, I just love the numbers too Edited December 6, 2010 by prateek Quote
Artanis I Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Wonderful! Castle is very good on its own, but the snow cover is excellent, and I like your cartwheel/tyre tracks. Add to that the fact that it is a fully functional advent calendar complete with bricked numbers (and do I see chocolate in there?) and it becomes a masterpiece! You made it for your girlfriend? 50 man points to you! Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Wow fantastic! What a challenge it must be to create an amazing looking castle with all those windows. Great MOC Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 That's simply a wonderful creation maydayartist! I'm pretty sure your special someone will deeply appreciate this one. Really a fantastic job on the castle itself, and the quite unique concept of the brickbuilt numbers on the walls of the castle. Oustanding overall work! Quote
Sered Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Amazing ... very nice. I'm really impressive...the castle is awesome and the round tower is the best part of it. Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I love the snow on the battlements and the roof! Great idea and excellent execution Quote
Enpaz Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) I agree with you folks, this is SPARTA! amazing! Definitely not madness, though. I really like how you put the numbers onto the castle walls... and only the castle by itself would be superb. Have you thought about doing a non-advent-calendar version of it? Like a limited edition which is exclusive to us forum trolls who haven't touched a lego brick once in their lives... Your girlfriend will be happy, you sugar daddy MOC expert! Great work on this. kabel Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 right on dude, this is really cool! what's girlfriend think of this? Quote
maydayartist Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 @Artanis I Yep in the 22 are some piece of choclate. A candle in the 11 and the singstar girl from the second minifig series in original bag in the 10. @Enpaz There is no non advent version planed for this, but another one from my childhood in a better way due to the fact that I now own plenty more bricks. It is the advent calendar for my girlfriend, but she is not really a big fan of Lego. Doesn´t matter. I like the part she don´t. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Thats a great idea and build! The castle itself is nice but the fact its an advent calender as well makes it one very well designed moc indeed Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Wow, what a great spin on a traditional castle! Those numbers even give it a kind of satanic kind of feel with the red. A nice snow covered ground and tree really add to the whole look as well. Great job and heres to an impressed girlfriend. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 A to an AWESOME castle design and a even more so for an orginial idea and after Christmas you can still use the castle by including some interior in the hinged sections.....playability to the MAX ! Excellent work 'maydayartist' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Randal Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 While the castle is cool, that snow covered pine is awesome. Good work. Quote
