Alasdair Ryan Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 What i ment is theese: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32013 that holds your steering arm.. if you try holding the wheel and run the steering you will se how this part slowly detaches from the axle (according to the 2nd pic) Oh sorry i have changed that last week on the moc sorry i did not show you the new design in the video so you dont need to worry Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 (edited) Well i ran into a problem in which the model is to heavy for one xl moter so i need to add another one, also the front steering wheels 'flop' so no pics just yet Edited May 17, 2011 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Badger Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Its looking really good , keep up the good work man Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Thank's man i have fixed the drive and now working on the steering .(thanks Allanp) Quote
Moz Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 £60 uk pounds those wheels cost me Did you consider supercar (8880) wheels? I just bought two lots of 4 for $CA25 and Euro15 so they're pretty affordable. Not easy to drive, but they're big. Also, if you trawl some of the older sets for sale on Bricklink it might be cheaper to buy a bunch of the old sets that have 2 or 4 24x43 wheels than to get them separately. But you could just wait for the UniMog to come out later this year since that seems to have big road wheels :) Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 If looked etherly in the topic you would of seen the smaller wheels i was going to use but then my good mate milan told me to go and spend all my money on the bigger ones you can see here,I got 12 wheels from ebay for just under £60 pounds Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) Is it a bird is it a plane ... no its a big white and red blob 'with a touch of black weighing in at over 2 kg .It drives slowly and the steering works ok, i hope once i add a bit of weight to the back it will be better at driving. I still need to finish the cab ,i am waiting for a order,i also ran out of red tiles at the back, then its the hock lift part its self,i think i will be spending £150 on just one skip. Thanks to Allanp for the drive and steering. I do realize it is a bit out of scale at this point am hoping that when it is done it will look better Edited October 10, 2011 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Milan Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Looking clean! I would move that XL more to the front, I dont like how it looks back there near the axles. Ideally XL would be placed under the cab and long shaft would lay through the chassis. Based on the picture you provided as a inspiration model, your cab is out of proportion. I think you should scale it a bit lower. Quote
timslegos Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I like the progress so far!! i cant wait to see more. I like how the cab uses SNOT, it looks very sharp. tim Quote

Milan Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 How many studs might i need to take out to make it look more to scale? Use that reference pic you provided at the beginning of the tread, enlarge it so the tires on that pic are approx 80mm (like the real tires you are using on the truck) and then measure the cab height from the pic. That is actual cab height you are looking for That way you can make pretty accurate scale mode. It is easier to do that when you have PDF file. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 16, 2011 Author Posted October 16, 2011 I have nearly finished restyling the cab i hope you like it ,i am still going to take 1/3 of the top roof and add the mirrors,i removed 2 full studs which looks a lot better. Tell me what you think of the new cab. Quote
vmln8r Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The cab could use more detail, eg: Lego Scania R730 1:13 by bricksonwheels, on Flickr Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 16, 2011 Author Posted October 16, 2011 I think it will look better once the mirrors are fitted. Quote
