Joris Blok Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Pokemon WIP Of course the whole team will be added. I'm also planning on making a big Team rocket mech. Any sugestions so far? Quote
SilentMode Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Very, very good effort so far! What kind of paint did you use to paint the various elements? If you can get hold of some S2 or even S3 maracas, you could possibly use those to create "pokéballs". Quote
Geki Brick Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) I dig* everything else, but the Pikachu without a face is bugging me. I think you need to give it a face. Maybe you were planning to do this already, but: Brock, Misty, Gary, Meowth figures would be a nice start. Oh yeah, and for gym badges maybe studs. You could make Pokeballs out of studs too. commanderneyo Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Nice work on the James and Jessie Figures It still amazes me even now that there has never been a Lego Pokemon theme Quote
Wout Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Oh Noes! It's Ash Ketchup. Pokemon was never a favourite series of mine, but these are very good mods. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Excellent custom minifigs, but Jessie is totally spot-on especially the facial expression. But pardon me saying so, but this shouldn't be posted in this theme, as Lego hasn't done any sets for Pokemon.......maybe in the Sci-Fi area, but I guess if a MOD doesn't want it here they'll move it. In any case, great work and keep saying 'in your face !' (Team Rocket) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I'm lovin' these custom Pokemon figs! You did a really good job on getting the accurate looks of Ash and Team Rocket. I see the baseball cap fits quite well for Ash's patented cap. The brickbuilt Pikachu is nicely done too. Can't wait to see the completion of this MOC (with Brock, Misty, Meowth, others), good job so far Joris! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Nice work on the James and Jessie Figures It still amazes me even now that there has never been a Lego Pokemon theme There was a Mega Bloks Pokemon Theme more information here and Tomy made some "block" like sets. I have a pic from one I saw on ebay here (when moderated). I guess pokemon just isn't popular enough in their major markets. At least not to the manic extents it once was. Quote
Cpt. Dan Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 This is awesome. I would have loved a pokemon line about 10 years ago when I was a kid. I still think that game is pretty neat. Quote
prateek Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Very good! I like Jesse and James' hair, and the Ash custom is very cleanly executed. I can't wait to see what you add on to this, as I see a lot of empty space. Maybe some bushes, and Meowth would be nice. Quote

Yes I know of those but I meant a proper theme not using Mega Blocks Quote
KyleJohnson11 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That is awesome! I love it. I do agree, if you cam find a way to put a face on Pikachu that would look sweet! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Yes I know of those but I meant a proper theme not using Mega Blocks If you can find the instruction you could make the pretty cool brick built legendaries. Quote

simonjedi Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 There was a Mega Bloks Pokemon Theme more information here They look surprisingly good. Quote
TFGuy89 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 There was a Mega Bloks Pokemon Theme more information here. Oh, I didn't know those were official buy-able sets! For the longest time I thought they were very good customs (as I searched on Google Images), and indeed they do look excellent. I really like that Giratina. Quote
xavierion Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 i love lego,i love pokemon.i wish it was a set..anyway NICE!! Quote
MrLestrange Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I'm not a Pokemon fan, but that lego is really good :D Quote
autobrick Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I've never been a fan of the Pokemon animated series, but the handheld RPG series are simply superb. I think having a licensed Pokemon/Nintendo theme would have great potential. There are a lot of iconic characters and locations, along with a gigantic fanbase that would support it. As for the MOC, I think you've captured Ash, Jesse and James' look very well, but in my opinion James' hair looks a bit funny. Pikachu looks good, considering you are limited to such a small size in order to keep in scale. Keep it up! Quote
Shadows Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Some nice work there. Since this is not an official LEGO theme however, I'll go ahead and move it to Other Themes where we discuss such things. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I'm also planning on making a big Team rocket mech. Any sugestions so far? I suggest you don't make the mech a Steelix, I tried making just his head to scale with minifigs and it was gonna cost like $70 alone! I say make a Wobbuffet mech (good luck finding light blue legos though xD), who doesn't love that blue blob! Wobba! Quote
KingDom Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 I think a white stud on a red stud would be suitable for a pokeball IMO. Quote
