Solscud007 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I got the samurai from series 3. His sword has an octagonal hilt. But my Prince of Persia dastan has a square with circles cut out. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Yes, those are two different swords. The PoP swords had square hilts while the Katana has the octagonal hilt as seen even in the classic Ninja sets and the rest of the swords except PoP. Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Ok. cool. So those are the only two types? Quote
Modulex Guy Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Ok. cool. So those are the only two types? So far for the Katana, yes, two variations, but quite a few colors, old light grey, bley, teal, pearl gold, black, and pearl silver. Quote
Rainwind Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 So far for the Katana, yes, two variations, but quite a few colors, old light grey, bley, teal, pearl gold, black, and pearl silver. Teal sword is a win. I just wish I could get my hands on some... Hello? Bricklink? ;) The Hagrid's Hut set (the new one) has 8 black swords. I have no PoP, so I've never noticed. I just assumex they had an octagonal guard too... Weird. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 The Hagrid's Hut does come with the new square hilts, and I expect that the upcoming NinjaGo line will as well. At least it seems so from all of the pictures so far. The collectible minifigure line comes out of a factory completely separate from all normal-line sets. The collectible line has already used the octagonal hilt for the Series 1 Ninja, so I suspect that they just used the same mould in a different color for the Samurai, instead of making a new mould in that seperate factory to match the square hilt that is now being used in regular sets. I don't think that the octagonal hilt will be used any more at this point in regular sets; you'll only see it in the collectible figs. Quote
