Hi everybody, I've been wanting to make a Family Home MOC since I bought the 8403 City House this fall, and the Family Home contest on Flickr gave me an excuse to finally start it.

Here it is from the four sides.

As a token to the old houses my sister and I built long years ago, I made it so it can be opened, and I added the removable floors for both linking to the modular style and alow more room for my hands

The roof can be divided into two sections, with ladders to reach it from the first floor and to get to the platform on top.

Here are some overviews of the rooms; more detailed pics can be found in this Brickshelf gallery, once pubblic.

I tried to add as much details and life as I could, so I hope you like it :classic:

Comments and critics are welcome.

Great creation, LuxorV! It was good idea to make the house hinged. I particularly like the interior, it is very highly detailed. :classic:

Very well done.

Magnificent Family Home creation LuxorV! The sheer amount of details inside is just outstanding, it was truly very enjoyable seeing all the rooms of the house. The exterior design is very well done too, the use of that printed baseplate fits perfectly the green surroundings outside the house. Fabulous work overall!

Now, that is a nice family home! Not only is it a beautiful building on the outside, but the interior is so detailed I don't even know where to begin... The kitchen, the bathroom (love that shower), the living room (that coffe table looks just like my real one ), heck, all the rooms are great, and very inspirational! :sweet: And great idea to have it both open and have removable floors . Nice choice of baseplate too btw, the printed path fits in perfectly. Great job!

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm glad you like it :sweet: Let's hope the judges will enjoy it as much as you people do

The ladder comes form an iedea that had been running in my head for some time now. I'm really pleased with how I managed to work it. The movement is quite smooth and it is funny to play with.

The minifig's wearing jocks in the shower because this is a MOC for everybody, and I did not want to have to censor it

Thanks buddy. As I said, I used to make hinged houses long ago, and I wanted to see how I could transport the old feature in a more mature disign.

Thank you KielDaMan. I always enjoied a good detailed house, and that printed baseplate is one of my favourite: I think I have used it in every house/villa MOC I ever made

WOW this is amazing, The details you have put into this house is outstanding default_wubnew.gif

Never seen a Lego house that folds out before.

I am trying to pick which room is my favourite default_classic.gif.

I'm really happy to show you something new; indeed, this is a technique which is not used often.

Thank you, Cecilie. When I read about the conetst I started looking on the net for inspiration, going through a number of real estate agencies' and furniture sites. In a couple of days, I got a folder full of pictures, then I added pictures from LEGO houses I found on Flickr and Brickshelf.

In the end, I based my design on a house next to mine, and I improvised most of the furniture based on how the single rooms evolved

Perfect . There is every thing inside, it looks so real . At first I didn't think it it was lego, its too perfect. good luck with the contest :sweet:.

You're too kind, crabboy329  Maybe it's the never satisfied builder taking in me, but I can already see a lot more things I could have done, but those would have made it too cramped to be enjoyable I fear :look:

the interior is great, but the exterior is kinda confusing to me. Im not even sure where the front door isdefault_wacko.gif Still a great project anyway.

Thanks for your honesty, erik530195 :classic:

The front door is where the wooden platform and the small grey roof are, btw

An incredibly impressive house! There's so many details in all the rooms, it's making my head spin. Also you're lucky enough to have those uber-rare cypress trees :cry_sad:

Thanks SilentMode. Yup, that's one of my favourite tree parts, along with this.
