Derfel Cadarn Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) For the past few years a small group of renegade Falcons have taken over the local mill and its occupants. After hearing of the affair, Robin and his men swiftly bring the Falcons to justice, but they also discover a hoard of gold hidden within the mill that the Falcons had gathered. Do they give it to the poor and continue to live in the cold forest in poverty, or do they buy a mansion and live the high life? A bit of a lame scene I know. I could of gone for a really heroic idea, but im just rushing these out now as ive only got 2 weeks till I go away for Xmas, so need to get them done. I wish I had more time to make this look as good as the Old Forge, but still, Im quite pleased with how it turned out and both mocs look great connected together. Anyway, heres part 1 of the Outlaw catogory. I know the pics are all pretty similar, but 3 pics are all you can submit, so I havn't really been bothered to take any more. BrickArtist Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Do i have to comment? All I'm going to say is that the name Derfel Cardarn is an icon of some of the best historic MOCs of all time. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Is it just me or the photos are currently unavailable in flickr? I am seriously looking forward seeing this MOC, and considering it is from master builder Derfel Cardarn, it is sure to be a fantastic one. Quote

I'm guessing he decided to take different pictures. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Really nice work again Luke! I fixed up your links as well Nice paddle wheel design btw. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Cheers ISC, after I put up this post I went back on flickr and resized the pics which is what messed up the links I think. Thanks for sorting that out mate. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Now that's much better, great work as always Derfel, it's nice to see once again your patented 'stacked round plate' wall details. And of course, the paddle wheel is very well done. Impressive work overall! Quote
Milan Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Awesome, again. The paddle wheel is the star, could you take another shot on the wheel itself? Quote
buddy Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Amazing creation! I too particualrly like the water wheel. It is very highly detailed. Very well done. ~buddy~ Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Thanks for your comments. The waterwheel is an improved design of what I used on my Mary Jane moc. I do have a few other pics of it which i will post on flickr when I get time. Quote
Avenger Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Beautiful design, the walls look great and I like the way you make those green areas look so good. Quote
damian Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Fantastic work!! I love the green water, vegetation and house details (I can't imagine how many small round plates you have used). Again - awesome MOC!! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I'm wondering if you have a box of pre-stacked random 1x1 round plates? Quote
Commander Laquiet Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 I'm wondering if you have a box of pre-stacked random 1x1 round plates? I have often wondered that too. It definitely seems to be his prefered technique. Any way, great work as per normal. The water wheel is an improvement on the older one, in my opinion. Quote
Derfel Cadarn Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 I'm wondering if you have a box of pre-stacked random 1x1 round plates? You couldnt be more right! I did use to take them apart and seperate them by colour but that was hell. So now I just bung them all in a big box so I can grab what I need. I dont think I could ever go back to just plain grey bricks for castle as it just looks odd and plain to me. But, I do want to get back to using some good old normal bricks which I why im gonna tackle a few Town mocs next year. Quote
ziljin Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Oh my, this is amazing. I normally use the studs for rocks but now I see that can be great for walls too. Quote
-obelix- Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 A truly beautiful MOC! Fantastic stuff! Love your work, it amazes me over and over! Keep it up! ;) Quote
