Hi everyone,

this is Stephan sending you warm greetings from the cold & wintry Stuttgart (Germany). :classic:

I was born in 1980 and as far as I remember I received my first Lego sets at the age of 5 (not counting Lego Duplo which I had before). I used to play with Lego until age 13/14 and got back into Lego fever this year. Well, what I mean is that I started buying Lego this year for the first time in 16 years, but although I haven't played it for 16 years Lego always had a special place in my heart and I always awaited the new catalogues eagerly. Believe me, I'm so glad I'm back into buying and building Lego - I've missed it so much!

I'm not a BNISB collector, like many others - I like to built my own creations and my favourite sets are actually these of my childhood ranging from 1985-1993/94, especially Legoland/Town/City. I buy a lot of used Lego off flee markets, collector stores and eBay and to be honest I don't really care if my Lego pieces are used or brand new. To me every used Lego piece has it's own history and that's far more important to me than a BNISB.

Here's my first MOC that I built a few weeks ago. It's a pizza snack stand with 2 stone ovens (1 large, 1 small), a built-in tv and a telephone. I really hope you like it, I think it fits well into the Legoland/Town/City theme.

Hallo Stephan! Heißt willkommen zu Eurobricks! (did I get that right?) default_classic.gif

That's a lovely classic Town MOC you got there. Maybe you should post that in the Town forum for proper recognition. Anyway, enjoy the site and see you around!

Thank you all for your friendly comments! I really appreciate you liked my very first MOC in 16 years.

I forgot to add some informations on my hobbies beside Lego... so here you go

- Madonna and Kylie Minogue (I've been a die-hard Madonna fan since 1994)

- collecting autographs (in person signed only - music and contemporary entertainment)

- Music in general (I simply couldn't imagine a life without music)

- Latin ballroom dancing

- Photography and art in general

As for collecting autographs in-person this is a hobby I'm pursuing very intensely since the age of 12. Each year I'm flying to the Berlin and Cannes film festival and have an average of 4 dates per week. Later on today I'll be after Herbie Hancock and Michael Flatley.

Anyway, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

@KielDaMan:

Nice of you to write some in German. "Welcome to Eurobricks" would be "Willkommen bei Eurobricks" in German and "I welcome you at Eurobricks" would be "I heisse Dich willkommen bei Eurobricks"

Warm greetings back to you!

Mein Übersetzungsprogramm ist so gut, dass ich in der deutschen Sprache nicht einmal Fehler mache. Your MOC is nice. Did I get it right that you rather like the "basic" elements and are not so fond of new and specialised molds? Anyway, keep it going!

Welcome to Eurobricks Stephan. This is the perfect place for a City-Town fan. There are many reviews and MOCs to see and share your opinion. It's great to hear that you're a classic town fan. You're one of us.

Enjoy your stay and have fun.

This is exactly my favorite LEGO Town period for me too! :sweet:

Seems you're German/Austrian/Swiss, so no need for a translator I guess... :classic:

Yeah, you're right - I'm more into the 80's and early 90's sets than the new ones. What I don't like at all with new sets are the fenders on cars (way too large) and the large pieces on airplanes, helicopters, caravans, etc.

Don't get me wrong, there are some really beautiful new sets out there, such as 5891, 6754, 8403 or 7641, but the look of the new sets simply isn't the same I used to know when I was a kid back in the 80's.

Hallo Stephan,

Welcome to Eurobricks!

Nice to see another German joining us.

I like your Moc...very creative.

Hi Skalldyr,

what part of Germany are you from? I'm located in Stuttgart aka Benz-Town :classic:

Btw, I instantly fell in love with your "The Adventures of Tintin" minifigs. They are awesome! Very well done

Great job on the MOC. I like how you actually used the big green base brick while most people feel compelled to build off a baseplate or plate.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned how you snuck in a random parrot into your MOC for fun. The parrot makes me want to modify it into a pizza stand on a tropical beach because Hawaiian pizza is my favorite kind of pizza.

I like how your brain is working quite fast!

I'm indeed from Austria.

Aaand yeah, I think I know what you mean. Earlier Lego (90s) just had a certain classic flair to it, it's hard to describe... but the really fabulous MOCs couldn't have been made without all those new parts, so I also couldn't image Lego still producing sets like back then.

Well, thank you very much!

I am from Saarbrücken....somewhat isolated from the world.

Ach en Saarlänner... Never mind, my mum's from Forbach just across the border, so I'm pretty familiar with Saarbrücken.
