So finally the eurovision song contest is going to be this week!

the semi-final from where 10 countries will move on to the finals is on Thursday the 18th

the grant final is this Saturday the 20th!! cant wait!

Cyprus has to pass from the semi-final cause we didnt do so well last year.. :-/ hope we will quilify..

Greece is the host of this years euro-song ..

I have seen a few countries rehesral this week and the competition is high this year as well

Unfortunatly the singer from Iceland wasnt all that nice...she used the F...word a lot during her rehersal

while talking to the director and the greek fans who went to see her...She was saying thinks like F... u Greeks

F...ing amateurs... 8-

The belgian song "Je t'adore" seems to be one of the major candidates i hear. It's already been a huuuuge hit in the belgian charts and they're campaigning thru out europe to promote the song...

It's quite catchy, so for once we may have a shot to end up somewhere top 5.

I'm still pissed at Greece's decision to change the voting procedure tho, because that's the only fun part of the show...

This is not a Greek decision..It was taken from EBU at a eurovision-junior contest!

I'm pretty pissed about this myself! the voting part was great fun!even better than the singing sometimes..!!

But this year there are about 37 countries (i think) that take part and are going to vote in the finall so they did it to save time...i dont agree with their decison thow...i liked it better the way it was

Hmmm... I've always found Eurovision Contest a bit exaggerated. I hate the Turkish songs that were chosen over the past 2 years, but I love the fact that it'll be hosted in our neighbour country. Being half-Greek myself, I might go and watch it there *sweet* . I wish luck to all the contestants.

OH boy a neighbour in eurobricks that is also half greek!! thats great!! nice to see you here!!

actually this years turkish song is going very well and is very likely to move on to the finals according to all the bets on the net!

i really like the Sertab song that had won for turkey!!

i also liked the rock(?) song from the group that was called "Athens" (also from turkey)

You have done well the last few years!!

Thanks *sweet* We're trying our best. Actually the second group's name is Athena and means Athena (the Greek goddess) rather than Athens :) . Ah, but the last year was a disaster.

silvia night the singer from Iceland just gave an interview on greek TV....

she said she wanted to give clothes to poor greek children and pulled out a pink G-string for little children!

how sick is that? this girl seems to have lost it!!!

*wacko* *wacko* *wacko*

she must've thought "even bad publicity is publicity"...still, pretty sick (well, at least for kids :-P )

This contest is usually a showcase for how weird some country's music taste is, or how bad a musician can turn out. I will not be watching it this year, or at least I'll try not to. The British entry is a joke. I've seen the middle aged guy performing his song, and it actually looks like this might be the first year a country gets sympathy votes (either that, or we'll go into negative numbers :-P )

well up to now you guys have said the songs you dont like....how about the ones you like? or love(?) *wub*

if there are any... :-/

I dont remember all of the entries (there have been previews in TV for a while) but Im sure I will just vote on an entry with violin, theyre all pretty much crap, but violin is my favorite instrument.

The thing is; this is not about music taste. This is all about music distaste. I mean seriously- we got CAROLA- the bloody suck-ubus/harpy hybrid! The second place winner was surely over twentyfourthousand times better and counting.

Its not about what song is best, its about what people think fit to be called a "Schlager song", and this way of thinking is retardation of our formely noble human species. OCH!

I think I would go Finland (Lordi) but on other hand, I havent heard their song. I know they usually are very good. May V

I haven't heard any song yet, except the one from belgium ... ah yes ... Spain... Remember "the Ketchup song"? it's a blue print of that... nope... not favourite of mine...

I think the whole thing has lost quite a lot of its charm, really... There was a time when it was strictly forbidden to play the song before the actual show, now it's the other way around. If you don't campaign, you loose...
