Big Cam Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 This is great, it's more than I expected. I like the placement of the figs. It really brings life to the MOC. Quote

gondortoast Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 no inappropriate comments please gondortoast Hey!!!! i resent that! still that cranes pretty nice, I love the overall vibe of the entire dioramma, but whats next? Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Hello again, Its update time: Not much done but I though I might as well show it. Back wall removed and replace with two tunnels. The main reason for this is for the class 08 as it (for some stupid reason cannot go back cab forwards on a curve ) now can change lanes from both ends, but also makes longer trains able to visit the shed. Flood lights are now on the sides of the wall. Interior detail of the shed. Weeds added to bridge side for realism. Video Hope you like it so far (Sorry about the unenthusiastic post I am very tired). Hey!!!! i resent that! still that cranes pretty nice, I love the overall vibe of the entire dioramma, but whats next? Yeah sorry about that , Dont worry I did mean it in a nice way . I'm not sure whats next. I will try a third track but unsure as to when or I may make more trains to display. Do you have any ideas? As always thanks for the support . Thanks, CB Quote
Odyssey Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Oh, wait, I haven't yet commented on this? First of all, the whole display is just amazing and filled with nice little details (I don't want this to seem like I'm only critisising you...)! You might want to add one or two big flood lights to the display and a few lights on the roof or the sides of the train shed just in case your minifigs need to work a night shift to get a loco back to service... Also, I find that the area between the shed and the back wall/tunnel portals looks a bit crammed and quite dark with the new crane. Maybe if you removed the black side wall or made the crane span both tracks? I guess the depot is only for diesel or steam trains, right? Quote

Don’t worry I only take it as constructive criticism. I agree with you when you say about putting lights in to make it more realistic. Although I have tried and I can’t make anything that looks ok, as it just ends up being a tall looking 'thing' rather than a light. At the moment my compromise is that under the refuelling station there are some transparent bricks pretending to be lights. When you said about the crammed area, it looks a lot less so in the real thing rather than pictures. I will try extending the crane out, but the black wall needs to stay because it is the end of the layout and stops people seeing the storage areas. Thanks, CB Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Awesome MOC Crabboy329!! Very detailed. The guy on the bridge in in black with sunglasses and binoculars looks like the Man vs. Food T.V. star Adam Richmond taking a gander at the yard! Must be a good restaraunt around! Quote

I forgot to update with new pics, so here they are: I think someone said about making the crane span 2 tracks, so it does (and moves). Here is a workmans (or womans) shed that is made of flat bricks to make it look old and broken. More at my brickshelf here. Hope you like it. Thanks, CB Edited December 11, 2010 by crabboy329 Quote
