MightySlickPancake Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Hey eurobricks, I'm not very good at starting topics but here I go. I finaly finished this layout a few days ago when I got some new parts so most of my time has beed spent playing with it and making changes, but now I am happy to show you all so I hope you like it. I made this as a display to roll locos on and off and to display coaches and wagons. So I tried to make it small but still having room for trains. I wanted it to look like a real railway rather than lots of track and not much else. It consists of (from left to right) a bridge for trains to come in and out of, signal box, points and the depot. Looking from inside the brige out onto the layout. The signal box is similar to gambots one (which I must give him all the credit) but is only a standby until I finish my version. Looking onto the depot and inside the shed where a class 08rests and some workers stand around doing nothing. Looking down the layout from the depot. On top of the bridge I made a hardly used narrow gauge line and put some train spotters look out over the depot. I wanted to make this layout a small typical unused and rundown english depot. I know that it dosnt look very run-down but I am working on it.And dont forget that this is only the middle section as a front and back part will be added meaning more tracks and more fun . My brickshelf here and here. All coments welcome(but be gentle). "say cheese" Thanks, CB Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I adore the narrow gauge railway bridge, So cute You've captured the true enviroment of a busy train yard. Keep up the good work Crabboy329 . Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 6, 2010 Author Posted November 6, 2010 Thanks, The Red Brick. Well at the moment it isnt very busy but when I am done it will be . I have decided that the loco shed looks silly without a diesel refueling station so I am going to try and add one soon. Thanks, CB Quote
DRM Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Your 08 is a wonderful moc. Excellent work. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 AWESOME 'crabboy329' just simply AWESOME ! All the detail and action is just one piece of excellent designing - keep it up and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
roamingstop Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Reminds me of the part of the station at Arth-Goldau in Switzerland, where the narrow gauge Rigi railway rides across the main line in a bridge, which also houses the station. Ok slightly different colours are used - but this could make a nice diorama. Edited November 7, 2010 by roamingstudio Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks for your kind comments guys. @DRM I am quite proud of it myself so thanks . @Thanks lightningtiger its very nice when a highly respested member likes you moc . @roamingstudio Wow I had never seen that before I didnt know anything like that existed. I am starting plans on the next part. I think I start the front part first, so any ideas on what I could include? something with a english style, but I am open to suggestions. Thanks, CB Quote
buddy Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Excellent MOC crabboy329! The size and level of accuracy of this MOC is amazing. I love the narrow gauge line on the top of the bridge. Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks buddy, yeah most people like the narrow gauge line best of all. I have some new pics of the shed but dont have time to upload them at the moment, so stay tuned everyone. Thanks, CB Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Awesome! I love your big black train. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Thanks Mrlegoninja . Oh and thanks Masked Builder I hadn't read your post at first. I love it too . Update: New fueling station added with canopy to cover it. Close up of fueling point. The canopy to protect the fueler. Under the roof there are two trans yellow plates to look like lights. Front of the fueling station., Without canopy. Hope you like it . Thanks, CB Edited November 7, 2010 by crabboy329 Quote
gondortoast Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I love your big black train. THATS WHAT SHE SAID! But back to the matter at hand your 08 is a really lovely creation I'd love to see more off it, I'm pretty sure more people would too I really like the rest of your MOC too Crabboy, the small gauge railway is different, but I would have put a road or something instead. (but tThats just me). train spotters are a welcome detail too. Quote

Yeah I dont know why I put in the narrow gauge railway but I just didnt want a road and had a few bits of old track lying around. Hey what good is a railway without the trainspotters ? Thanks again Masked Builder its always good to have appreciation . Thanks, CB Quote

MightySlickPancake Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks buddy and The Red Brick. Any ideas on what next to include? I am working on plans for a new track next to this one where trains can come from both sides. Thanks, CB Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Thanks buddy and The Red Brick. Any ideas on what next to include? I am working on plans for a new track next to this one where trains can come from both sides. Thanks, CB Maybe a crane? Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 Thanks Masked Builder I do agree but I am unsure as to which style would look best. I think a one like this but in yellow. I know its a bit basic but I like the style. Thanks again for the posative feed back, CB Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 Maybe a crane? Your wish is my command . Its update time again: Whats that? Well it looks like a big yellow thing (no inappropriate comments please gondortoast ) Well its a crane of course. On top. with a view of the working crane rope. Underneath the crane. This crane is designed to remove the engines of locos rather than as a large intermodel container crane. Sorry about the bad pics but I hope you like it. Brickshelf here Thanks, CB Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Very well done, CB. The Narrow gauge engine on the bridge kind of reminds me of Talyllyn, and engine that works on the Rheilfford Talyllyn in Wales. The BR Class 09 is quite admirable, being it the most successful engine in BR history. All in all, I love it, and I hope to see more posts. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Thanks efullner, I didnt think it at the time but I know what you mean when you say it looks like Talyllyn. I will try to do more and I hope I do, but funds are a bit low at the moment . Although I am open to suggestions on what to add. Thanks, CB Quote
