georgivar Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) Here is my latest creation. For some time now I've wanted to build a tan house, and a house with columns. So this is what came out. Heavilly inspired by Marcos Bessa's Ancient Lady Museum (mainly for the windows) and teddy's Public Library. The front: And the back with a little bit deserted garden: This is how it looks next to my other modular buildings: Any comments are welcome :) It is a relatively simple build - not much details on the facade. My biggest dilemma was about the scale - the floors are 9 bricks tall and this is maybe a little bit larger than the original CC modular buildings. But I still don't have an original Modular to compare so suggestions are welcome. Edited November 5, 2010 by georgivar Quote
Big Cam Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Very nice, the tan is a little bland, but the building and design with th ewhite and tan is great, you could easily subsititue other colors using your design for a multitude of great buildings. This fits right in with the modular sets. Really nice job. Quote
prateek Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Wow! Great Victorian house! I love that front door. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Yep, it's the brickbuilt door that sells it for me, AWESOME creation you have there 'georgivar' - the tan brickwork with white trim......simply beautiful ! Keep your AWESOME creations comming and keep on MOCing ! Quote
wooootles Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 What can I say, it's absolutely awesome. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I simply adore your Modular building. So detailed and so beautiful Great work Georgivar. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Another quality creation georgivar! I just love this tan modular house, it's stunningly beautiful. The tan-white combo looks really fresh, and the attention to details are just excellent. And what's even more great about this build is even the back is very well-done, which is as pretty as the front. Impressive work, and keep it up, as I've always followed your creations. Quote
buddy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 A beautiful MOC georgivar! The tan building compliments the white trim very well. I also love the front door, it fits the building perfectly. Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
Rick Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I really like the color scheme and the architectural details of the building. However, I always feel minifigs, interiors, little scenes set up around it add maybe as much as half to the overall look. Are you planning to 'populate' your buildings? Quote
Cecilie Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Very nice building! I love the use of tan for it, it fits the style perfectly and the whole thing looks very realistic. Quote
Jasper Joppe Geers Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Excellent! We don't see actual tan buildings anymore these days are we? Maybe some interior?.. Keep up the good work George!! Cheers, JJ. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Great modular building georgivar. If that is your idea of a facade without much detail, then I really like to see the result with much detail on the facade. Quote
georgivar Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 Thank you all for the nice comments! :) I'm planing an interior for this building. But I'm a little impatient when it comes to building and was so eager to finish the exterior that left the interior for later. Encouraged by the comments I'm now more motivated to finish it properly :) Quote
sens1992 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Absolutely fantastic Georgivar! Great amount of detail here. I really like what you've done here. Quote
shutinc Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 really, really nice building with so many details to look at. Truly impressive work and the combination of colors are just great! I personally like the balcony above the entrance and the stairs best. Great work on the windows too! Quote
