GuiliuG Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) Hello everybody ! My new moc is a truck. Effectively, i ordered the new controller and i wanted a truck to test it. Like you can see on this image : the cable is too short, so i'm obliged to detatch the switch to full tilt the cab. And the switch lights leds : Here is the video : I have added a second ir to control the steering with the "old" controller because i'm not yet accustomed to the new (i have had it for one day^^). I'm open to all comments and sorry for my english :) Edited November 4, 2010 by GuiliuG Quote
Benly Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 It looks really nice! Maybe make some sort of trailer if you have the parts and time. I'm curious to know if that's front suspension I see or just what seems to be double wishbone and a shock? Quote
DLuders Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Very nice MOC! I took a peek at your Brickshelf folder and saw the other pictures you have of the truck. I like the bold look -- is it modeled after any particular truck? Yes, the 64227 "Electric, Power Functions IR Speed Remote Control Unit with Dark Bluish Gray Base" takes some getting used to, but it offers a more realistic starting and stopping of vehicles. Instead of having a motor be "full on" or "full off", one can GRADUALLY accelerate and decelerate with the Speed Control unit. Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 That is pretty darn amazing! I haven't built any Technic Stuff in a long time. Maybe I should break out my stuff..... Quote
fmmjqtft Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 The truck is good, but I'm afraid the new IR controller is horrible. It uses the 'increase', 'decrease' and 'brake' commands, and therefore only sends a signal when you want to change the speed in some way. This serves to make the controller less reliable, but the really bad thing here is that the IR controller has no 'queuing' system, meaning that if you rotate the dial too fast, the controller sends incomplete signals. GuiliuG Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 @ fmmjqtft: you're totaly right. But i have discovered this only this afternoom :) @Dudeler : this truck is not inspired from a real truck, but he's just inspired form my imagination ! @Benly : yes it's front suspension, with white spring Quote
buddy Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 An amazing truck, even better considering it was only made as a test for a controller. I agree that the truck has a bold look. Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
apemax Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 really nice truck. great design. good work. Quote
Big Cam Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 That's awesome. I must say building with technique looks alot harder than building with regular LEGO. I take my hat off to you guys. Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 This truck looks nice Ahd the front-suspension is a cool extra feature. So you're using 2 transmitters on the same channel ? Does it work ? I tried it with my American TRuck but it didn't seem to work. When one transmitter is transmitting, the receiver can't receive signals from the other transmitter. Quote
GuiliuG Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Thank you everybody. Jurgen Krooshoop, i have added a second ir to control the propulsion with the first ir wich is in the first canal andthe steering with the second ir which is on the fourth canal. Quote
