Primusman Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 What an awesome idea! I'm excited to see what everyone has to share in this topic. Make sure you check out my moc, hogwarts world (which almost sounds like an amusement park title itself ). I'm a conformist!! Quote
Skafte Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Sweet idea! Couldn't Gringott's be the entrance to the big rollercoaster? Quote
narbilu Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Sweet idea! Couldn't Gringott's be the entrance to the big rollercoaster? Wow yeah, a Griggots Bank Rollercoaster with tracks along the vault (as in the movie)... Will add it to my coaster list Quote
buddy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I agree with everyone else, this is an amazing idea and I can't wait to see any developments. ~buddy~ Quote
Duke Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Sounds like a nice idea, that Aragog ride is very ingenius! Quote
Oky Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Very creative idea! I hope you'll be able to finish it. That Aragog ride is a good start! Hm... How about a carousel with Hippogriffs, Thestrals, Centaurs, and brooms? Quote
narbilu Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks for all the nice reactions. A "Quidditch" broom ride was also along my ideas last night. Didn't have much time last night, but I was able to transform my Aragog into the ride I designed. The ride has to be tailered into a full ride with waiting line and scenery, but it's a nice start. Hope you like it. Regards, Narb Quote
Skafte Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Aragog looks great, but shouldn't he have eight legs? With the clicky bits you use, you can have four up and four down, making it look like they move vertically! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hello narbilu, welcome to Eurobricks! Your Hogwarts Amusement Park is a very nice idea and we're looking forward seeing your designs and actually building the whole thing in real brickform soon. I agree the Aragog LDD design is already a good start, keep it up! BTW, I noticed that your are attaching the images in your posts. The better way is to deeplink your photos instead of attaching them. To do that you need to upload them in image-hosting sites such as flickr or brickshelf, and copy the image URL and paste them in the Insert Image icon when making your post. For more tips, you may check out this topic --> How to Deeplink and Post Pictures. Hope that helps! Quote
narbilu Posted November 4, 2010 Author Posted November 4, 2010 Ok, I made the Flickr account... Will post the next pictures by deeplink. Regards, Narb Quote
It All Ends Here Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 It sounds very interesting and I hope to see much more in you op coming pictures! And the Aragog rit is really nice! Quote
narbilu Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) The first parts of my amusement park are a fact... even my wife supports me :) so I got some real Lego quality time. The basics of "the Dumbledor Towerdrop" is finished, I am not really satisfied yet with the roofing and detailing, but for my first MOC I think I did a nice job. Please comment or give any hints and tips how I can improve my builing. Also on my Flickr account you can see the floorplan of the project, it will be so cool More pictures are in my Flickr set. Oky Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Huh. That's not how I imagined the ride to be at all. I thought it was gonna be a regular tower drop ride. Not bad, though; I'd ride it. The aesthetics are nice too. What happens when they reach the bottom? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 The Towerdrop looks amazing! It's nice to see you have a really very-planned layout. This has the makings of a great massive MOC. Can't wait how this one turns out. Good luck and keep it up narbilu! Huh. That's not how I imagined the ride to be at all. I thought it was gonna be a regular tower drop ride. Not bad, though; I'd ride it. The aesthetics are nice too. What happens when they reach the bottom? I actually like the concept, it's weird and fictional, fits perfectly in the strange world of HP. CMP Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 What happens when they reach the bottom? The Tower Drop looks very good but what happens when your'e at the bottom of the fall? Well, what happened to Dumbledore? Quote
It All Ends Here Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Well, what happened to Dumbledore? Then I wouldn't go in there. Quote
Brickstarrunner Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 (edited) Hey, are you free for some help, because that layout plan got me into trying to make a Gringots bank ride. Once I get done, mind if I post it here Edited November 23, 2010 by Brickstarrunner Quote
narbilu Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Any help or ideas are very welcome... I look forward for some great MOC's Quote
Geertos13 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 This is wonderfull Are we allowed to help you by giving some ideas or even/maybe build some of our ideas to help you ? Quote
Brickstarrunner Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) My WIP interpretation of the Gringot's ride, including an entrance/exit station, a line, and 2 (poorly) made minecarts with filler goblins (Picture is a bit heavy) Post your suggestions, because in my opinion, it is just too bland and whie Edited November 23, 2010 by Brickstarrunner Quote
