jof Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 When I was a kid, our word for searching through the lego to find pieces was 'scrabble' as in "Stop scrabbling and go to bed, its half past 10!" So what term do you guys use, and is there an offical word for this activity? Jof Quote
SuvieD Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I have always used digging. I have never thought about it much though. 8-| I do dig much any more though because I sort instead. Quote
xenologer Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 "What is the verb for searching through your collection" 'searching' :-D Quote
snefroe Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I don't think we had a special word for searching, however, I do remember that we had an entire catalog of part descriptions in our minds. Whenever i played with lego with my friends, we always understood one another perfectly. So when one of us was looking for a specific part and wanted the others to know, we didn't need much explenation. Usually "a small red window 2 x 2" or "a 2 x 6 plate, black" would sufice. Everybody knew what you were talking about. But if you played with lego with others, people who were not familar with that language... g... it took them hours before they knew what you needed... KimT Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I don't remeber my childhood name, but now my girlfriend uses the word: "skramle" which might be translated to "rattle". Stop Your rattling with those bricks (usually followed by the doors between the office and the living room are shut and the TV turned up) This is said harder than it actually is ;-) KimT Rattle On! Kikuichimonji Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I just call it "searching", but then translated to the dutch dialect I speak: "zeuke" :-P Quote
