Hi,

Has anyone tried to close that section of? the current configuration means I cannot run it over the "standard hair" version of the IKEA carpet ;) as the hairs get tangled, that is just annoying :)

Maybe an alternative would be to make a Wheeled version? has anyone tried to convert the 8043 into a wheeled excavator?

Thanks,

Noam

If you use some of the hard plastic wheels it should probably work fine as a wheeled version, with rubber I suspect the friction will be too high to navigate turns.

But the solution for you is probably to throw out that dust collector of a carpet!

the tracks are caught in the hair of the carpet? hm well, i think you need a lawnmower.

a mobile excavator which is based on the 8043 would not look good. wheeled excavators are small ones in reality and the 8043 is a bigger one.

How about covering the carpet with a large bed sheet?

Hi,

I believe the problem is in the LEGO model, not the carpet, it makes no sense (even in real life it could happen) for the gears to be exposed, the undercarriage where the gears are should covered/protected.

Thanks,

Noam
