RoryoCox Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) I present to you my first modular building. I was very influenced to build my own after seeing everybody else's great MOCs. I tried to broaden my building skills on this project and I assure you it will be the first of many. I hope you all liked it and watch out for more in the future. Cecilie Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Very nice modular building . I like how it is quite unique compared to the "standard" modular building format. Also, cool use of the golden microfigs Quote
def Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Nice The color scheme is tasteful, and I like the alley way. Quote
RoryoCox Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) Very nice modular 'Burman' - excellent detailing and I'm a conformist! ! Thanks lightningtiger. I did try to get the right amount of detailing onto the building without it looking clumsy. Excellent color combonation, love the archway. Especially like the building on the left. Looking forward to more modular mocs from you. I too like the colour combination and Thank You for your nice comment. Superb Building burman, I Love the little Stand outside A nice combination of New and old greys. You will notice that the building is symmetrical and that the different greys are not randomly placed. Very nice modular building . I like how it is quite unique compared to the "standard" modular building format. Also, cool use of the golden microfigs Thank You, I wanted something different and more modern. Nice The color scheme is tasteful, and I like the alley way. Thanks Def, the Alley I think was necessary to show that the buildings were different. Edited October 28, 2010 by Burman Quote
Flare Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Wow, very nice, very red. I like it, I think it would fit in with any modular display very well! Quote
Zorbas Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Very beautiful work Burman. Great colour scheme, very interesting design and I really love the size of it. It could fit in a classic town layout very easily. Quote
Admiral Ron Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Very nice, I love all the details, mainly the use of the golden microfigs! is the alleyway going to be paved? or are you just leaving it as grass? keep up the great work! Quote

Thank You one and all. The alley will be paved in the future but I have not got enough bley tiles yet. I have to order some soon though. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Very nice! Do you plan to take pictures of the inside? Quote
Vindicare Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 That's a cool building, nice design! One thing though, I would remove one of the little statues. Rotate that part so the discs are on the side and the figure is facing up. To me, it just looks a little strange with statues/figs are jutting out sideways. Quote
prateek Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Very nice! I like that balcony connecting the two buildings. The crest with the gold 2x2 rounds and minifig statues are great too! My only concern is that the buildings might be a bit too short compared to the official modular buildings. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Interesting techniques you did there Burman, especially with the positioning of the different slopes throughout the building. The use of the chrome gold pieces is very clever and effective too. Good job! Quote
RoryoCox Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 Very nice! Do you plan to take pictures of the inside? Thanks. I did not make an interior. I do not think it is neccesary. To me, it just looks a little strange with statues/figs are jutting out sideways. Thanks for your comment. I will try that. Very nice! I like that balcony connecting the two buildings. Thank You, I thought it would be nice to have some diversity among the buildings as it would look unrealistic to have them all the same size. Thank You, KielDaMan as well for you nice comment. Quote
Big Cam Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Not bad at all. I really like the color scheme, whenever I read modular building, I always expect them to be a few stories high, but I like this smaller one. Very interesting use for the karate Guy's trophies. Quote
