kzv Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Hi there, Here's my first MOC modular building. I've mostly used old lego (20-25 years old), that's why the colors are mostly red and blue (guess those where the most common colors back then ). It's inspired by the narrow buildings you can find in cities like Amsterdam. It's supposed to be a very small restaurant, but I guess I miss a floor where the chef can make the food. I went out of bricks, so the last floor have to wait.... Comments are more than welcome!!! Front: Back: Ground floor: 1st floor: 2nd floor: Between 10211 and 10185: Quote
SilentMode Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 A very nice addition to the street! I like the idea of a small "private" eaterie place, and the building reminds me of a three-floor restaurant that was featured in Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Interesting little creation, a nice little gap filler, but where is that crazied swearing chief to though ? A bit tight in there eh ? Still, great design job there 'kzv' and keeping on......modular building ! Quote
legotrainfan Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 First I though there can't be any stairs in such a small building, but you managed to put them in! Looks very nice, your little restaurant! No wonder that there are some minute details like the tap and toilet in it. There wouldn't have been enough room for anything that isn't minute. Quote
Legostein Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Hello! I quite like the idea and concept It's a cute looking little building! I remember having seen something very similar in an old "Lucky Luke" comic where there was a very narrow chinese restaurant between two buildings. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 This is a great little building! I love how you maneged to fit stairs inside. It a nice little modular building. Nice job. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 That place is tiny! It reminds me of a Moroccan restaurant that I love in Northampton, MA, USA. If anyone is around there go and eat at it, you can't miss it. Great food. Anyways, nice job, the Moroccan place is about just as small. Quote
prateek Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Very nice! I built my own 8-wide building, and it is hard to make a decent interior. It looks like you've got your interior well done Quote
Big Cam Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've got to say, I like it alot. It's very real since often in big cities, there are very thin buildings. It fits right in. Quote
The Soup Nazi Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 This inspired me to make a Pizza restaurant! Quote
Admiral Ron Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 This looks great. I have been wanting to build a small modular building for some time, and you have helped inspire me. Keep up the great work! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 That's a cute narrow restaurant alright, and I really like it a lot! It's nice to see the vibrant red-blue colored narrow building squeezed in between huge modular buildings. Good job kzv! Quote
kzv Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Thanx a lot guys for good feedback, I'm just overwhelmed. Have to say that playing with the old Lego I used to play with 25 years ago, give's me and my kids a lot of quality moments together... This inspired me to make a Pizza restaurant! I thought of making it a pizza restaurant, but my daughter (7 years old) already made one (not modular) so she didn't allow me . And I didn't have enough Lego to make a 3rd floor for the chef Anyway, I'l look out for your pizza place kzv Quote
streifen Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 GREAT MOC there!! was just thinking. if you want to add a cooking area for the chef, extend the back portion coz i see you have some unused space at the back. forget about the dustbin. that area can be used for cooking. Roof'ed over..of course. Quote
