Starwars4J Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 That plankton...it's just a prototype, right? I can't imagine Lego doing anything THAT shoddy! Quote
Starwars4J Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 How did this guy get it? Actually, if you read the beginning he mentioned how: This is the official LEGO Spongebob "Build a Bob" set. Thanks to Steve Witt who allowed us a first look at this during BrickSouth. He's given me a shot at reviewing this so here goes: I dunno though...it still doesn't look that appealing to me :-/ Quote
The Hordesman Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Nothing bad at all. Lots of pieces, and everyone loves lots of pieces. And hey, its Bob. It cant be be much better a set than this for being a Bob. Quote
police Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 this is off topic but do you know when sponge bob's coming out Quote
xwingyoda Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Great review of the set Chris ;-) The model looks better than I originally thought !! Also, its a great parts pack: it has a great selection of yellow parts and slopes, computers and trans clear chefs hats *sweet* I do concur with you on Plankton: its really bad, bad, bad >:-( TLC's policy on stickers have always annoyed me, but placing stickers on 3 parts is just stupid and wrong !!! And the playability additions are quite nice actually. I am pleased to see yet another "shooting device" in a set :-D Well in that case its understandable (unlike in the new ISD) IMO. Those chefs hat really have a second life tks to Spongebob hehe: pink they are jellyfish, clear they are bubbles hehe. Also Chris I love your little comic at the end, its ingenious ;-) PS: added to the Nick Index ;-) *yoda* Quote
Norro Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Good reveiew. I really enjoyed your comic! God Bless, Nathan Quote
KimT Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Nice review - though I'm not getting any of these Sponge Bob sets. Loved the comic and "All your sponges are belong to us" (ROFL) KimT Quote
snefroe Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I don't think there's much to look for in this set for an adult... I think the parts are average at best, and if we do have a set with lots of basic bricks, then i'd prefer it to be a castle, not Sponge... Quote
Zane Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I think it'll be easy to modify and give a back-case. Might buy, might not... Is Build A Bob the new name? -Tilius Quote
optimus-convoy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Build-a-bob looks like a pretty great set, and a nice homage to that "Plankton takes control of Spongebob" episode. Quote
