Making tall masts?

Hey all...I'm new to posting but have been reading for a little while now. Could or would anyone give some ideas for masts or making masts taller then the normal three piece sections? Just getting started on building and could use some ideas on it.

Lots of these, with a technic axele or hose through it you are able to reach higher heights.

I also suggest taking a look into our Ship MOCs library, or sniffle through the ship building forum threads.

I like to stack these -

(using technic pins ad lightsaber bars) on top of the mast - lets you extend it indefinitely and attach spars where you want (normally using some other technic parts).

Another good trick is to put a mast base onto the crow's nest, and then carry on builgin upwards - you can get 5 sections in this way.
