jedikermit Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Dang! How can something that smells be so good be so evil? :'-( I had a girlfriend once who smelled fantastic, but she was DEFINITELY evil. I can give you her number, if you want. >:-) Quote
natelite Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 why did you bring up a year-old thread? if it's just the lego that smells (and not the instruction book) washing it with soap will remove the smell. the only thing you can't reverse is the creaking sound of an overexposed brick. sun and heat really damage lego. :-P Quote
SlyOwl Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 (edited) why did you bring up a year-old thread? I was thinking about it and browsing the depths of this forum at the same time - I couldn't resist, and why not? It's of relevence and many people have not had the chance to comment - IMHO if it's a good, interesting thread then it's worth bringing up, like "Your favourite Lego sound" and "What makes it so addicting?". If all threads that have not been posted in for 3 months are not allowed to be posted in, then please, say so! :-D You make me :-X That would be the cigarettes! :-P SlyOwl Edited December 11, 2007 by SlyOwl Quote

jedikermit Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 She had her moments. Of course, she's probably old enough to be Indy565's mother, so I'd better play nice. Quote
chris_austin Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 I received a bricklink order today and was horrified to find the packet and contents reeking of smoke. The hottest water from my hot tap, fairy liquid and lemon hand wash pretty much solved that though. I just soaked the bricks until the water was cold. I was quite surprised because I thought cigarette smoke was permanent. I was tempted to try bleach but didn't want to take any risks with my valuable bricks! Now, what to do with my MISB 6396 Airport/International Jetport that has a faint cig. smoke smell... Quote
CP5670 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I received an item like this once, but the smoke smell seemed to go away on its own after a months. I didn't do anything to get rid of it. It was one of my better ebay purchases otherwise, a 6954 Renegade in display model condition. Quote

I've had a faintly smokey MISB set for 4 years and the smell hasn't gone. I've no idea how long it was in the smoke conditions - could have been a good 10 years before I bought it. I was thinking of spray the inside of a big cardboard box with fabreeze and leaving it in there for a while. I don';t want to spray the set box directly Quote
