I ran across this interesting short video on how a game disc is made, and they happen to be making the Lego Universe disc, and alot of them.

When I was in school they took us to a disc factory in the area. It was quite impressive to see the machines working (they were printing a large number of Dreamworks El Dorado at the time).

I used to make small batches of CDs for marketing handouts with a CD replication machine and CD printer. I would love to have that factory but it is not really economical unless one is doing thousands and thousands of copies in a single run.
