Big Cam Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I ran across this interesting short video on how a game disc is made, and they happen to be making the Lego Universe disc, and alot of them. http://gizmodo.com/5669758/the-making-of-a-video-game-disc Mods/Fellows if you feel this should be in the Game/Multimedia forum, please move it, but since it's not actually about gameplay, I thought it was better suited here. Cheers Quote
prateek Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 That's pretty cool! I've never seen an actual disk being made. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Now that was really cool! Nice find. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Great find Big Cam, thanks for sharing! Very nice to see how CDs are made, and the background music really adds up to the overall video presentation. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 When I was in school they took us to a disc factory in the area. It was quite impressive to see the machines working (they were printing a large number of Dreamworks El Dorado at the time). Thanks for the video link Big Cam Quote
Big Cam Posted October 23, 2010 Author Posted October 23, 2010 Gizmodo seems to have a bunch of cool LEGO stuff lately. Although alot of it is already posted here though, EB is on top of things. Quote
dr_spock Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Pretty cool. I used to make small batches of CDs for marketing handouts with a CD replication machine and CD printer. I would love to have that factory but it is not really economical unless one is doing thousands and thousands of copies in a single run. Quote
