Dan the Brickman Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 so its late, and I was reading the web-comic XKCD (full of geeky humor) Anyways, in a comic from a few weeks ago, he made a map of the internet as a world globe. Brickshelf is listed. so, its Lego related. Here is the link:Online communities Just thought it was worth noting. We now return to your regular web browsing. Quote
Artanis I Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) I did see that actually, but I did not see Eurobricks nor any other Lego related site and thus was disappointed. It's near Buzzword Bay if anyone's looking for it. Edited October 21, 2010 by Artanis I Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah I already saw this map a couple of weeks ago. I never even bothered to check-out if any lego-related websites are in the map (thanks for pointing out Brickshelf). Which now leads me to curiously think, how does Eurobricks compare to non-lego and other lego-related websites/forums in terms of overall acitivity? Quote

I'm sure Eurobricks is over shadowed by hundreds of other forums, but at the rate we're growing right now... Edited October 23, 2010 by MacK Quote

Yeah, obviously we pale in comparison versus non-lego-based forums, but against other lego-based forums, I would assume EB is the most active one around, right? Quote

prateek Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Who ever guessed Brickshelf was so big? Quote
Flare Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Who ever guessed Brickshelf was so big? Really, honestly I would've thought that here or maybe MOCpages was more active than there Quote
brickmack Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Wow. I was just looking through that map a few weeks ago trying to find familiar websites. I can't believe I missed that... Quote
Corvus Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Interesting. I missed that on my first check. Who ever guessed Brickshelf was so big? I wouldn't. Maybe that's because I stopped using it a few years ago- it's not a very great way to share pics, IMO. [flickradvertisement]Flickr is so much nicer. People can comment on pics, and you can upload multiples at a time. [/flickradvertisement] Quote

I would hope we are the largest AFOL community, we do have 12000+ members. I wouldn't. Maybe that's because I stopped using it a few years ago- it's not a very great way to share pics, IMO. But I have to admit I am surprised that Brickshelf is there. If only EB could take the spot of FarmVille and happy farm. CF Edited October 27, 2010 by CommanderFox Quote
Commander Laquiet Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) Aside from the Lego point of view, it was an interesting map. I thought Flickr was bigger than that. However it is great that Brickshelf made it! Edited October 27, 2010 by Commander Laquiet Quote

[/flickradvertisement] Yes; flickr is better than Brickshelf but it's not very user friendly when it comes to viewing pictures. By now I should have learned to like it but I can't. I much prefer Picasa. Quote
