Blakbird Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 The two receiver deal -does- give a slight advantage in acceleration and maneuvering. However, it's not enough to justify the purchase of another receiver for people who may be new to Power Functions. Also, after a while there were some problems; the internal safety of the receiver seemed to kick in at random intervals. Never figured out how to get rid of that. Since I don't want to deal with people complaining that the model doesn't work, I changed it back to a single receiver which may lower performance a bit, but is way more reliable. Of course, if you want to go completely nuts, there's room for two battery packs in the vehicle. OK, I took the instructions and made an MLCAD file and the attached render. There were a couple of things I couldn't replicate. The Hero Factory shields on the sides of the turret did not exist in LDraw, so I made an add substitution. The Bionicle chain links also do not exist, but I was able to find all of the other parts. One more thing I noticed about the change from 2 IR Receivers to 1 is that we lost the cool grenade launchers. Quote
mahjqa Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) WHOO! That looks awesome! Thanks! Your alternative for the hero factory shields works nicely. Yeah, I substituted the grenade launchers (or whatever they were supposed to be, in-game they're miniguns, I think) for something a little more sturdy. For those who want to install the originals, here's a good view of them: Edited March 12, 2011 by mahjqa Quote
