lifeinplastic Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Hi all, Thought I would start a thread about minifig musicians - mainly due to the lack of them. I was disappointed following the release of Lego Rock Band that this was not followed up with any figures although I realise that including a musician with a set would be a difficult task as it doesn't really allow for much action or playability. However, I would have thought the Minifig series would have started including some, and although future series may include minifigs with an instrument, as there are many types of instrument the next release would not include them all at once as they have to cater for other themes too. I know there was the pop singer and there is a trumpet player from the old Western line, plus a wooden recorder/flute from a Potter set. However, other than that we don't have much. I don't think custom instruments look particularly good and it would be nice to see some more included in sets - I guess the ideal solution would be a modular music shop with a variety of instruments for sale. My question to continue the thread is which five musical instrument figs would you most like to see? I'd pick A jazz saxaphone player A rock (electric) guitarist A piano tutor (old lady and piano using 1x2 printed tiles for keys) A brass band tuba player A classical violinist Instead of army builders, people could become orchestra builders! I really like this idea! I'm the one from BrickFair this year who brought the evolving display of a drum & bugle corps show, and I would love for TLG to produce more instruments. I'm happy to see BrickForge and Amazing Armory doing their parts, but where's LEGO? My favorites: Saxophone player Clarinet player Baritone or tuba player Doublebass or 'cello player Marching drummer (snare and/or bass drum) *I customized my drummers' equipment, but I'm sure TLG could make it "legal". Move to the music, orchestra builders! Quote
